Visit to Old McDonalds

It is warm, sunny, above is what is coming, I hope I am healthy enough to get out and away from this for awhile this winter.
.
Well as we end September and head into October next week it has been great weather, sunny, warm, very little wind, the leaves are changing fromm green to great fall colors.
.
We took the Grandson and went to Old Mc'Donalds Farm in Sackets Harbor for our annual trek to the farm.  This year was as much fun as last year.

.

.
Old McDonalds has animals, a corn maze, barns, cows, bunnies, chickens, goats, a camel, horses, donkeys, pigs, turkeys and all other types of animal, fish and foul.
.

.
The Goats love popcorn, thankfully they did not bite but did grab my Honey's hand.
.

.
Brent and I feeding the "Hog", this thing was huge and had some awful mean looking tusks curved around his jaw!!!

.

.
Outside the Raindeer shed we stood in the shade, it was hot in the sun, but "Frosty" didn't melt.
.

.
This Raindeer has been at the farm a long time, his antlers are in the "Velvet" and he is kind of mean right now and didn't like his picture taken as he hit the fence with his antlers.
.

.Brent with some shed antlers!  We have been coming here for over 20 years and each visit is intere4sting.   They have a restaurant, ice crème shop and souvernier shop and sell flour, syrup, honey and other items.
.

.This is our 12 year old Grandson, he is gonna be a "Big-Un" !!!   We love him !!!
.

.
This is the only type of Golf  I play !!!
.

.
We went on a "hay ride" out to see some more animals and the "Land of Oz" !
.

.
This is "Daddy Long Legs", this thing is 8 feet tall, I forgot what type of a bull it was.
.

.
Daddy Long Legs simply reached into the wagon to be fed hay, he is big !!!
.

.
The farm has a big Corn Maze, it has the Wizard of Oz theme, it is easy to get lost in and also fun to wander around in,  the corn this year is big, over 8 feet tall and the corn has big ears of corn, lasy year was a drought and the corn yield was really poor.
.

.
We finally met up at the castle.
.

.
Anna Mae found the flying monkeys.
.

.
I found the Old Witch!!
.

.
We came out of the Maze, in back of us is the huge Pumpkin Patch, they had some monsterous pumpkins and the cost $$$$$$$.
.

.
In the barns were donkeys, horses, miniature horses and they do bite.
.

.
Anna Mae and Brent on the "Billy Goat Gruff" bridge.
.

.
It was hot, the Alpacas layed down, this one is sunning his belly,  we noticed they would come and throw water on the huge pigs. they said they had to cool them down due to the amount of fat they carried around from eating all day.
.

.The Duck Pen was closed, we could see them all huddled in a mass in the back, don't know why
. it was closed.

.
My Honey looking at the Koi Fish and 2 Mallard ducks with broken wings.
.

Enjoying ourselves !

.
We enjoyed the farm and being togeather.

.
Our weather is fantastic, we had a heavy fog this morning and it warmed up into the high 70's.  Sunny and warm and going to be that way for the next week, loks like our Indian Summer is early, this warm weather is Great but not good for the early deer hunting, archery season is here now,  I like to wait till November to hunt as it is cooler and I think better hunting.
.

.
We went to Art's Jug in Watertown for dinner, Art's Jug is an old Italian Rest. that has been around since 1933 and is still going strong.
.

.
The food is delicious, I used to eat there a lot when on the Police Force and took my daughter and son there, now we are taking the Grandchildren there.
.

.
Shannon is home from South Dakota, her husband is in the Air Force, Grandson Brent is 12 years old and a pretty hefty boy.

It would be nice if someone could do this !!!.

.
Well our weather has cleared up, the rain is gone and the temps are up in the 80, beautiful fall days, sunny and warm, I am feeling somewhat better, neck is sure better and fewer chest pains.
Love setting in the sunshine and feeling how warm it is!!!

.

.
The "Wolly Bears" are out, I have seen several working their way to a leaf pile to settle in for the winter, My Father said you could predict the North Country Winter by looking at how much black was on the wolly bear and which end it was on.

.
The wolly I found and another one had lots of Black on its "head" or front end and this would be that winter comes early and is hard and the tail of winter is easy and spring comes early.
.

.
We are getting the cross road finally paved, for 6 years now we have had a crusher run road, it is dusty, noisy and fills our apartment with grey dust if you leave a window open,  there was money available I guess and its being paved and the neighbors on this side of the building complex are very happy about it.
.

.
The new "paved road" is in that connects the complexes.  You can see the tree leaves are turning colors.
.

.
We played at the Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit Tuesday night and were joined by Ken on Harmonica who can play a mean harp, Kens joins us as his wife is in skilled nursing and he likes joining us.

Looks like our 80 degree weather is going to slip away, calling for heavy rain tomorrow and cooler temps.    Cleaned 6 nice "Brook Trout" we had frozen up and made a nice meal of them.

.
.
I cook trout on a cookie sheet, with olive oil, garlic, onion and sprinkle on a little old bay seasoning and cook on 375 for 20 minutes.
.

.
I cooked up 6 trout, they came out perfect, nice and white and the bones were not too bad.
.

.
My Honey made Tabouli, it is a Lebanese salad, has burgal, parsley, onion, and seasoning and tomatoes, she takes the seeds out of the tomato's for me.

.

.
.
Well, summer is almost over come Saturday, Sept 21st when at 4:44PM FALL officially starts.   It was a short summer, a lot of time was spent sick.    I just spent a few days in Lewis County Hospital with severe diverticulitis, an infection of the intestines, I had most of my large intestine removed so can't understand why I get it as I am very careful on my diet.
.
I lost about 20 pounds, but that is not a good way to lose weight.
.
I am glad "Shipslog" is back up and running !!!!!!

.

.

Hospital stay was OK, but ike they say, there's  no place like Home !!!!!!

.

.
We have cleaned out both gardens now, the onions are bagged and in the closet and the turnip is in the fridge.
.

.
I played a few songs at the Skilled nursing unit but had to stop and sit and listen as I tired out!!!
.

.
We went to Burrville to the Cider Mill where they press apples and make fresh cider and upstairs they have homemade cider doughnuts which were OK!
.

.
I played for a while here where we live with the "Friends of God" but that chair behind me got a lot of use as I sat out every other song.

.

.
I am taking it easy right now, lots of rest, pain medications, and heat and Ice packs on the neck which is very sore.

.

.

This picture is for a couple of friends of mine whose kids just went into Law Enforcement.
