The Church in the Wildwood
.
.We started back up playing again for awhile, we went to the Hamlet of Omar, New York and played for the Omar Methodist Church, Omar is just a small Hamlet, a church, parsonage, an old cemetary and a few houses and its a tight knit community, today, (*Sunday) they had an auction, and some Hot Dogs, soda and an Ice Crene Social for a fund raiser and it was very sucessful, they asked us to play.
.
.
I am playing with the "Friends of God" and I am helping Pastor Dennis on his song about animals, the Ark and some rain.
.
.
Roger is giving it his best at "Luther Perkins" style of pickin and doing pretty good.
.
.
We are doing a Medley of songs here.
.
.
Above I am trying to remember the words to "Mercy". Thankfully I did.
.
.
Kristey came up and sang some for the Church members and they liked her. If you look at the table in the far right the white table cloth is empty, their "Auction" was a sucess.
.
.
I am either singing "I saw the Light" or gasping for Oxygen during this song.
.
.
I try not to get into Politics but I am starting to feel like this.
.
NEVER FORGET, REMEMBER OUR VETS !

Mountain Trip, Fishing, Deer, Fred
Sadly I learned of the sudden death of my brothers son, Fred Wood, Fred lived out in Washington and at a young age of 47 he was struck with a stroke and passed away in his home at the age of 47, His service is tomorrow at 1PM.
.
.
My Nephew Fred worked in the Woods out in the State of Washington and would be gone for a while so he would let his beard grow until he returned from the woods, Fred was a rather large man, easy going, an Army Veteran and if your familiar with the American Legion he was a member of the Old "40 & 8".
Fred worked at many "Fund Raisers" and was always helping others in the orginizations he belonged to.
.
.
Fred and his wife Jackie.
.
He will be sadly missed.
.
Well, we got out of Dodge for a few days, we packed and went up to the "Adirondack Mountains". We have a place we usually stay at and made reservations and headed out.
.
.
I am standing in front of the Adirondack Lodge, this is a chain saw carving of Eagles and a fish, behind me in the building is the "Heated Pool"... We changed and went to the pool and let me tell you, that water which is usually nice and warm was "Ice Cold" and it took some bravery to get in.
.
.
Anna Mae is standing in front of a carved Bear, weather was great, hot and humid. We both are tired, Usually we get a quiet room but this time we ended up with a family over us, the children did nothing but run and run and run across the floor over our heads and it sounded like they were playing with bowling balls dropping them on the floor, this lasted till 1:30AM before they went to bed.
.
.
We rented a boat and this is 4th Lake, part of the "Fulton Chain of Lakes" that goes from Old Forge to Tupper Lake and beyond, I once with a friend took a Canoe trip down these lakes spending 7 days on the chain coneing and camping out.
.
.
Directly behind Anna Mae is Mt. McCauley, looking up toward 3rd, 2nd and 1st Lake and Alger Island Camping Island which can only be reached by boat.
.
.
With Motel, Boat Rental, Gas, Meals, this little yellow perch cost me about $100.00 dollars an ounce, this was the one and the only fish to come aboard the USS Woody.
.
.
We are standing on the State Boat Launch, directly behind us is the 5th Lake on down thru to the 8th Lake, Look up "Fulton Chain of Lakes" on your computer and you can see how big they are.
.
.
Above is a nice "Spike Horn" wandering around inside the Village of Old Forge.
.
.
This little girl above wandered right up to Anna Mae as if to say, where's my treat ? one picture we missed was 2 large Bucks, a 6 point and an 8 poind, standing in the road stopping traffic in Old Forge, they are right now in the Velvet and soon the males will start fighting for territory and rights to the females.
.
.
Above is a building which has stood for years on Rt. 28 going to Old Forge, years ago an Air Plane crashed into the building thru the roof, it attracted many people, the owner fixed the inside and then repaired the rood leaving the end of the plane sticking out from the roof. It draws tourists in and is good for his business.
.
Sadly we have lost 4 more of our Fort Drum Soldiers. Remember of Veterans, those past and Present.

Summer, Fair relaxing
.We have been busy running back and forth to the Doctors which is nothing unusual. We got our Grandson Brent and we went to the Lewis County Fair.
.It was cool, down in the low 80's and confortable to walk around, we went and watched the Oxen pulls and Brent didn't want to get too close to those horns!!!
.
.We walked the midway and Brent and his Grandmother went to the "Ring the Bell" and believe it or not the little bugger hit the Bell 3 times and walked away with a prize.
.
.I don't do rides but these 2 did a couple, the ferris wheel thing went way up and they both enjoyed it.
.
.This is Brent and Anna Mae at the top of the ride !
.
.We did get to go over and watch the "Big Horses" being put thru their paces, there were some magnificant animals on the course.
.
.We finally stopped and headed for the food tents so we could eat and head for home.
.
.We played at the Jefferson County Home !!
.
.Next night we played at Angles Inn nursing home !
.
.Then we played at Country Manor Nursing unit !
.
.We took a break and visited the Grau's for Cribbage games and the pool, It ended up being a tie with a 1 -1 score because we went to the pool where it was cool.
.
.Marty and I sat out in the shade and cooked Jerked Pork from Eddie Bolivers Meat Market up in Croghan and it was delicious.
.
I am going thru Physical every tuesday and thursday for a small tear in my rotary cuff and Anna mae is back to having the shots in her lower back for pain but we are blessed as this is bearable.
.
We recently lost 2 of our 10th Mountain Division soldiers in recent fighting overseas.
Let us not forget our veterans and service men and women serving our country.

Enjoying some summer camping !
Well, we got out and did some summer camping, it was great for awhile, quiet mostly and the food was great,
.
.
We found a nice tent and headed out to Whetstone Gulf for some Woods Time which was overdue. It was a beautiful night, almost a full moon and sleeping was great and restfull.
.
.
My Honey taking a break from setting up camp.
.
.
Above Breakfast was eggs, Canadian bacon, toast and it was a great start to the day.
.
I am making toast over the fire for breakfast.
.
Anna Mae is making Home Fries , we had to but a new cook stove, the Old one was a Winchester Cook stove and was 38 years old and it finally gave up the ghost and quit.
.
.
Lunches were good, on the table is a bag of fresh lettuce we got right out of our garden.
.
.
Anna Mae and I played cards, "Cribbage" and enjoyed the evenings with cards, walks, quiet time and we enjoyed our couple of days, we could not stay because the people across from us arrived with 2 large dogs, the one dog, I believe it's name was "Boomer" because they were constantly yelling Shut up Boomer, quiet Boomer, etc, etc, I spoke to the park officials about the constant barking but they did not do anything about it . The occupant of the site was in the Army, had his wife, 5 kids and 2 dogs out camping, I told him his dog was bothering the people all around him with it's constant barking and asked him to keep it quiet.
.
He didn't keep the dog quiet, I didn't want a problem so we prayed about it and left him there and we left and came home a day early..
.
.
We made it home so Tuesday night we could go and play at Country Manor Nursing Home for the residents.
.
Don't forget our Veterans this "Day of Independence" !

Summer and Family Reunion
Well summer has arrived. We have gotten the garden off to a good start, things are growing. Anna Mae is picking fresh lettuce for sandwiches and it is good.
.
.
The second garden is only beans and onions and that is for everyone here to pick, pull and enjoy.
.
.
We were lucky as my son came home from Portland Oregon for a family reunion. this my son, Jonathan, Daughter Sabrina and grandson Brent.
.
.
We are all gathered out on the new deck being built on my son in law and daughters new house.
.
.
We got togeather for the Wood Family reunion and had 77 people show up, we held the reunion at the South Edwards School where my Grand Father and Great Uncle went to school and we stood on the same steps that they did for a family photo.
.
.
The above photo is the Old School and below is my brothers and sisters except 1 brother who was out of town standing in the same place.
.
.
This is on the left Watertown Police Chief Nick Reff and his son, Sgt. Joe Reff, Nick passed away Monday.
.
Well, life moves on, don't forget our Vets and everyone stay safe and be Happy.
