New Grill

I love to cook, I really like to cook outside, I liked Charcoal as I was never in a rush to cook things fast and charcoal is nice.    Now with the New (Old) House and people visiting, we needed a new grill.
.
My Honey unknown to me surprised me and bought me a new Gas Grill and it was complete with a $43 dollar Propane tank, (Filled) all put together and just had to pick it up at Abuchon Hardware.
.
.
I got the grill home, the Grandson got his Fathers Truck and picked it up for us and delivered it to the House.
.

.
All set and ready for cooking a meal, now just have to get some meat to cook !
.
.
Our Grandson Brent playing with Tipper,  Brent likes to cook, he is currently cooking in a nice place less than a Mile from his House.    People like to eat, the world needs people to feed them and we are proud of him for his choice and wish him the best.

Sunday Service

We had a Nice Sunday Service for Church !  Usually we are doing it over ZOOM on computers.
.
Our Interim Pastor was off so MY Honey took the Helm and did the Church Service and had a Friend do the Scripture Readings.  We held Services at Getman Park, Outside.   I furnished the PA System.
.
.
The little Girl on the side is Guarding the Collection Basket for wind blown envelopes and we do not pass the Plates anymore.
.
.
Some of the People from our Church and another Church brought their Lawn Chairs and sat in their Vehicles to listen an all Socially Distanced and wearing Masks !!
.
.
My Friend and Partner in our Duo, "Turning Point", Dan and I did the Music and Hymn Singing.   It was warm but we had a Terrific Breeze that kept us cool !
.
Great Morning and I took My Honey to Breakfast after our 9:30 AM Service.

OUCH

When we went fishing I caught my line on a rock and the tip of my fish pole came off when the line broke,  not wanting to lose it so I took my sneakers off and walked out into the knee deep river and the rocks were slippery and I reached the pole.   I got back on the shore, sat down and put pole together and rigged it back up.
.
I looked down and there was a small puddle of Blood under my foot, looking I saw some Blood on my right big toe,  I grabbed a clean Paper towel and wrapped my toe, put my sock and sneaker on and we went home to fix my toe !  I didn't feel anything sharp or pressure on my foot while in the water but figure it was a sharp edged rock or a shard of glass that cut it.
.
.
Unwrapped my Toe and cleaned it up and got it ready to wrap  From looking at it I think it was cut by a jagged sharp edged rock when my foot slipped and slid around on the slippery rocks!
.
.
I probably should have gone to the ER for stitches because when I put the Iodine on it "Man o Man" did that sucker smart.  I am a firm believer in Iodine on cuts, My Father was also,  I was lucky I found a bottle in an Old First aid kit and another bottle in Car Travel kit at a Garage Sale.
.
.
After 2 days this spot developed on top of my toe.  Think it is from rubbing on my shoe !  I know from now on I will wear old sneakers when I get in the River,  Thankfully the river was down as they are working on a Dam upstream and water was fairly calm !
.
My Honey has tried to Help me keeping it clean with Peroxide bt with her Cataract Surgery I am doing it myself as she does not have to bend or strain!  It is a sucker to walk on but feels like it is healing !
Everyone stay safe and Healthy.

Staying Healthy

Today was Surgery for my Honey, they did her Right Eye, Cataract Surgery was scheduled and got her there at 9AM,  I had to wait  in the Car so I went for Coffee,  Seems there was a delay in Operating Room so My Honeys surgery got bumped back 1 1/2 hours but she finally went in, we were both on our Cell Phones keeping tabs on each other.   Her Surgery was over, she went to Recovery and then they brought her out to where I was waiting.      Glad it is over for her, now it is a month of Eye Drops !
.
.
Earlier pictures taken wednesday, My Honey in front of her large Glads, Her sister in Oregon sent her the Bulbs last year and we planted them this spring and they came up nicely and are tall !
.
.
Our Sweet 100 Tomatoe Plants, 4 of them we planted are doing nice, I have already picked off 2 dozen sweet little Tomatoes.
.
.
They are great in a tossed salad or if they are just eaten right off the plant !
.
.
I am working on an old outside Plant Stand, it is a Chair, I am putting on new seat boards and I am replacing a letter that was on the uprights with a "W", there was a "N" on it !
.
Hope my friend Jack of "Shipslog" http://shipslog-jack.blogspot.com/  is doing OK after his "Snakebite" !
.
We have cooled down some, less Humid and Warm.
.
Tuesday we went Fishing and had a Great Time, The River felt like Bath Tub Water,
.
.
My Honey got a nice Small Mouth Bass first off, they are delicious but this one was small and put back in to grow.
,
.
Not  to be outdone I landed this one, nice an scrappy an he was put back in to grow more !!   We Catch and Release except nice Trout, those get eaten !
.
.
This area is about a 20 minute walk from our House which makes it nice !
.
.
We would have fished longer than we did but I sliced open my right big toe and I filled my shoe with blood, we had to get home and clean the river water from the cuts and clean them and put dressings on them, they were nasty cuts !.  Hopefully have them cleaned to prevent an infection !
.
Everyone stay Healthy !

Cellar Coolness

Church Service was Good today, nice message, Next Sunday My Honey will delver the Message, she has been working on it for a week now, I am ready to do the Music !. . It got hot today, I mean Old Fashioned Summer Hot, 92 here in Deferiet after lunch !!
.
.
It is cool in the Basement and down we went, I am cutting in around the Sink and painting all I can reach laying, streching and putting on a good thick coat of Paint, the Humitidy upstairs is 72 % and down here is only 55%.
.
.
My Honey is painting to my left working from the dry to the wet area where I am cutting in, I paint up to about 4 1/2 feet while sitting on the floor and my Honey paints from the top edging down to meet where I left off, works well and good system !
.
.
We painted right along and and it was pleasant down in the Basement at about 75 degrees with the 2 fans going !  Would be cooler if Pilot Light on the Boiler was turned off but not yet till I get my estimates of a new Hot Water Baseboard Boiler !!
.
.
The white 4 " PVC is the sewage line that goes into Cast.  The top cast line is the  Outside Vent,  The Plugged line in the floor I think is a clean out, the Grey Funnel with the 1/1/4 drain line is a slop drop for mop water .   If I knew how I would knock this hodge podge system out and connect PVC to it,  The white wrapped pipe is my main water supple wrapped so it does not freeze in the winter.
.
Think I will have to get Jack from Shipslog.....http://shipslog-jack.blogspot.com/ up here to "Supervise" this if I tackle it as he has worked with this Cast before and I haven't much experience in it,  and Sherry and My Honey can go shopping !
.
.
This is the Heil Hot Water Boiler that feeds all the Baseboard Radiators, I want this replaced, Just replaced the Hot Water Heater befor we moved it.
.
Tomorrow I call ENT to see if they need to check my Right Ear as it is still bleeding some from the Tube Insert where the cut the ear drum to insert it.  The left Ear is OK, just everything is so darn LOUD !!!!!!!

Quiet Day

Well, it was a pretty quiet day,  We had a late Breakfast of Steak and Eggs from last nights Prime rib left overs.  Relaxed and and at Noon went to Watertown, My Honey needed another Covid 19 Test for her surgery on her other eye, the Right eye for Cataract !
.
We then went to the Drug Store to pick up my Ear Drops renewal Rx of Ciprodex Drops.  When we went in and asked for it the Clerk said it was going to be almost $400.00 for ear drops for 3 more days.    I decided I would use what few drops were left and ration them and call the Doctor Monday and see if he has a sample of them as my Insurance does not cover the cost !
.
.
I am supposed to put 10 drops in each ear 2 times a day for 7 days, my surgery was Thursday !  40 drops a day and it just runs back out onto a tissue when I sit up !
.
Oh well, it was a nice day, relaxed, tomorrow is supposed to be hot and temps up in the 90's so we are going back down in the Basement and Paint another wall and stay out of the heat.
.
Church is on the Internet on ZOOM and next week My Honey is doing the Church Service at the Getman Park outside and I am finally getting to play the music for her service and do 4 Hymns !
.
Everyone stay Healthy and cool !

Sore Ears

Well, a Partial nights sleep, up at 3;30AM with some bleeding on the right ear, funny as this is the one that has never had a Tube placed until now, my left ear has had 4 different stages of inserts!
.

.
There are literally hundreds of different types of tubes, inserts and material they can insert into your ears, usually this is done as a small child, well I am a small child as I have had a few !
.
I have gone to Ear, Nose and Throat  for a long time,  Dr. Hillerman a wise old Ear specialist checked my ear. saw some infection and put in my first small "Tube".
.
.
This is what an ear tube looks like planted in the ear drum, close to the bottom of the ear drum so the infection drains out !
.
Over the past 20 years I have had numerous ear infections,  and 3 more "Tubes",  the last Tube was a T-Tube which was supposed to last a long time but fell out after 2 months.
.
I went for years with a slowly growing scar tissue to cover the Holes in my ear.    About 2 years ago I started losing my Hearing in my left ear again, I had to go have a hearing test and it showed me deaf in left ear and 25-30 % loss in right ear.
.
I was then allowed to go to ENT as my insurance would cover this 5th insert in left ear and 1st insert in right ear.
.
.
This is what they put in my right ear and for some reason wants to bleed !
.
.
This is the New "Triune Tube" they put in my Left Ear, this is rather large due to there being so much scar tissue which is why I had to have it done surgically in the Operating room Thursday Morning,  I have Drops to put in it so it drains away the infection I have and will stay in hopefully a long time !
.
So, it's keep water out of my ears, keep them stuffed with Cotton after the Ear Drops and go back for a check up to see what progress I made !
.
Being I was a Good Boy in Surgery, this is what we had for Dinner tonight !
.

.
Medium Rare Prime Rib, Salt Potatoes, Green Beans, Tossed Salad, Marook Flat Bread and Au Jus !
.
.
As you can see I did a pretty good job on the Prime Rib, I might not hear too well but I can still eat !!!!!
.
Have a Good Weekend,

Ear Surgery

Well, this will be a short entry, Went to hospital for surgery on both ears today at 7:15AM, Wife could not go with me, so, I went to surgical Prep, was sprayed on my Hands and face and put on a Mask and walked/supported myself on the Arm of a Lovely Nurse.
.
I got to my little cubicle, stripped naked, put on gown and socks, and waited, Busy time, for an Hour they asked questions, checked me over, took my picture, I was able to use my phone and Text my Honey !
.
Then 2 Nurses and the Gas Passer came in and down to OR we went.   Put me out and did surgery and at noon I was home, been it bed all day, up long enough to get ear drops and  do this little post.

Haircut

Well, I needed to get a Haircut, My hair looked like I stuck my finger in a light socket !  Kind of Wild !  It also stuck out when I woke up in the morning !
.
.
My hair sticks out like wings on a Bird !  and With my 2 procedures and operations on my Ears Thursday Morning they would have cut it away from my left ear.
.
I went to my Lovely Barber and had her do almost a High and Tight but her clippers were not working so I settled for a #1 hair guard, I would have liked it a little tighter but this is OK !
.
.
Deanna did a good job on the Hair.    Looks and feels better already !
.
Been on the Phone with the Hospital, We discussed my Procedures on my ears, the Possible problems, then we went over my Medical History and every ache and Pain I have had for the past 5 years !!!!
Well, I gotta go take my pre meds and tomorrow some tests !

Surgery Month

Yesterday at 7:30AM took My Honey to Watertown to Samaritan Hospital, she was scheduled for Cataract Surgery on her left eye,  Surgery was OK, she was sick on the ride home a little.  She goes back in 2 weeks and they remove the Cataract off her right eye !
.
You could not tell she had Cataracts by looking but she said her vision already is somewhat better in her left eye after the Surgery !
.
Next Thursday I go in Good Samaritan Hospital for surgery on first my Right Ear to have a Tube put in and then they are going to Operate on my left ear and try to put in a "Triune Tube" in my Scarred up ear drum from 4 previous ear surgeries, I am stone deaf in my left ear, have been for long time, There is quite a bit of infection in the left ear drum and behind the ear drum I hope they can clear up !

Day off

We took an easy day today, Church was on ZOOM at 9:30AM, good Sermon and then we relaxed, It was warmish out, 90 and Humid, which I think is better than - minus 25 below zero with 2 - 3 feet of Snow.
.
.
I will take the Heat and Humidity instead of this !!!
.

.
.
Saturday the 4th we had a Feast, I cooked us 2 nice large T-Bone Steaks on the Charcoal Grill !

.
T-Bone Steak, cooked Medium, Macaroni Salad, Lebanese Salad, *(Tabouli) and Marook Flat Bread was for dinner, could not eat it all,  The Tabouli is great as it helps cut the bad LDL and Cholesterol .

Inside work !

Well, at 92degrees it is too hot and Humid to work outside SO, down to the basement we went, grabbed our Paint Brush's and started to paint the basement walls ! We were gonna do this this winter !
.
.
My Honey started in the worse spot, by the old cast iron sewer lines and started painting,  it is supposed to be Navy Grey,  Will know when it has had a chance to dry, the tint, lighting or my eyes are  off as it looks a little different than what I chipped, scraped and slapped on Bulkheads,  Fan Tails and Port and Starboard sides of ships !!!
..
.
She is moving right along, covering up that pale Army Green on the walls, guess thats what ya get for living outside an Army Base, many inside walls and houses were Green here in Deferiet or they were Papermill Pale Green !  Directly behind My Honey that raised square in the corner was the 'Shower" for the House, the Mill Workers would finish work, come home and shower in the Basement, Most Houses in Deferiet have these, this one is plugged now and is where the Cats Litter Box goes >
.
.
We painted the west wall and called it good now have to wait for it to dry in this heat and Humidity !
.
.
I have to do some work on this section of Old Cast Iron and Jute and Leaded joints, the round thing is a slop bucket and drains out. Lucky as there is a sink down stairs with hot and cold water which makes cleaning up easy !
.
.
I am getting the South Wall ready to paint, some patched areas covered !
.
.
I will tackle this tomorrow as it is gonna be another Hot and Humid day again ! I need to brace up the front of the sink and the angle brackets to make it more secure and stronger for cleaning.
.
Well its late, almost bedtime, it's 2220 and really past my bedtime !
