We are still home, Our Church Service was ZOOM,  worked good, Tonight's Bible Study is by ZOOM !  Works rather well !

We have been outside and enjoying the Fresh Air and watching the Grass turn Green with all this "Rain" !!.

Our walk over into the back yard to the wood line we found either Daffodils or Narcissist, we dug some of them up and brought them Home !

.

My Honey uncovering some more "Stuff" growing in the back yard wood line !  When we lived next door we had lots of flowers and shrubs and roses !

.

The garage in the middle is our current garage, those Rose Bushes are ones I planted 15 years ago when we lived where I am standing at 31 Wilna Avenue,  I am trying to see if I can cut and split them and put some on our New (Old) House lot out front !

.

This was the Garden we used to have next door to where we live now, BUT, age, health is removed this much work from my plate !  It is a good memory !

.

.

Last Years Garden was Cherry Tomatoes in 5 gal. pails and that I think will be what this years is, (2020) !

.

.

My Dad's poor Tea Roses did not do so well, I think too much shade !!!!    Dirt was great but they didn't get the Sun they needed !  They will get dug up and moved !

.

.

My Honey is anxious to get her hands dirty in the flower beds and plants !

.

.

We got our Walk in and feel somewhat better,  Everyone Stay Healthy, Stay Home and Wash your Hands and Don't touch your Face !!!

Family !

Well, I am still staying home, I am not taking any chances and My Honey will do the running and Errands !
,
Seems like sometimes things get rough and we have to deal with things,  My Oldest Brother John had 7 children,  his son Lance had 2 sons, Hunter and Chase, well, got a phone call that there was a Car Accident and Chase was Killed, Hunter is all right but shaken,  They were just in Florida visiting my Nephews Brent, Craig and Tom who are down there for the winter in their Class A Homes.   Well they can not just up and leave and head for Conn. for the Funeral so they are upset !

My Oldest Brother John, *(RIP) and his Family !  Brent, Craig, Tom, Mitch, Becky, Lance,  Brandi.

This was last July 2019 when the John Wood Clan got together !  Chase is in front squatting in a Maroon t shirt.

Chase John Wood, 21 years old just graduated college in CT. and was going to be a Coach !  Sad, Tragic end to a life so young !

.

Sequestered

  Well, I am Sequestering myself, I have been for some days now !    What does it mean,  Isolated and Hidden Away,  I am not sick, well, maybe a little in the head !!      I have COPD, I am  Stroke Survivor and a Heart Patient,  I have been to a Pulmonary Doctors and been tested,  I have had the Sleep Apnea Test done, I have worn regulators to measure my Oxygen intake.

I come back on all of these tests as "Borderline" or just above or Just Below !!
.

.

OK JACK !!!!!  , NO LAUGHING !.  This is what I wore for the Sleep Apnea Test in the hospital, It takes an hour to put these on your head, face, chest, legs, arms and back, they then tuck you in bed at 9PM and tell you to go to sleep, they then come in at 5 am and wake you up to leave !   My test came back I did not have Apnea !

.

I can walk about a mile in total, or for 20 minutes,  I can still go up and down cellar stairs with out an issue !

.

My biggest concern is after a meal I have to be careful as you know when you eat your blood goes to your digestive organs and this causes some shortness of breath !

.

SO my Honey goes to the Post Office, the grocery store and I stay Home !

.

We had our Church Service in our living room as we went to ZOOM and watched it and had Sunday Service on Tuesday Night Sunday Church was closed due to this Bug going around and we have a lot of Elderly People besides me !!! 

.

.

We are keeping everyone in our Prayers during this trying time, Stay Safe, Stay Home and "Wash Your Hands" !

.

Goodbye Spring for now

Well we had Spring for a couple days, it got colder, we then got torrential downpours of rain and strong winds !
.

.

Winter was here, and we had 4 feet of snow, all in 24 hour period !

.

.

Looking out the back door on the lawn trying to see thru the down pour that took almost all the Snow away !

.

.

We started to get Spring weather which was nice, we both got outside and did a little puttering around !

.

.

Yup, Winter is BACK,  I am wearing a Mask not only for the Virus but I also have to wear one for my breathing for the COPD !  It does help !     We have the Snow coming down, it is 31 degrees and tomorrow it is going to get up to 45 and hopefully it is "Good Bye Snow Again" !

.

.

This is what we are waiting for after we get rid of this Snow and Cold !!!  I need to get some Raised Bed Gardens and we need to Grow some Veggies !

.

Sunday Dinner

Well, we figured as long as it was Sunday, we were up showered, shaved dressed and had coffee, Church Service as going to be on ZOOM so at 11am we got on our computers and went to ZOM, our Minister was home in Syracuse and then they lost Internet service, SO, No televised ZOOM Sermon !   But that's OK, we will try on Tuesday Night again !

So, since it was Sunday, what would be better than Sunday Chicken Dinner,  This beauty was covered with a butter coating, touch of Sage and Poultry Seasoning and Cara-Cara Orange Juice and baked at 350 Degrees un covered for 3 hours basting often and then for an half hour covered so it would be done at 3PM ! 

.

.

Once cooled a little, I then carved the Bird and then we were ready for dinner !

.

.

Chicken, Potatoes, Cranberry Sause, Cara Cara Oranges and some Chicken Broth Gravy was set, Prayer offered and we chowed down !

.

.

We both enjoyed Dinner and each others company !

.

.

After this meal we waited and then we had our Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie with a little Ice Crème !

Then we headed out the door as it was 41 degrees and Sunny so we took a walk for a chance to get some fresh air and to solve all the worlds problems !

.

We now have a case of the Convid-19 in our little Carthage Hospital, it is an Employee!!!!  WoW !

.

We came back and headed for our recliners and relaxed!

.

Week-End Time

Really there is not much difference between the weekend and weekday now that Church has been closed !!!
.
So, what do we do to take up time, ease boredom and get by !     Well, we cook and eat !!!
.

.

My Honey took out a small, BIG Ham, went down cellar and got some dried Split Peas, a carrot and made a delicious Ham and Split Pea Soup and to top it off, we had Corn Meal "Johnny Cake" !  or "Corn Bread" ! It was delicious !!

.

.

To top off the meal My Honey made Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie.   I had 2 pieces of it and it was also delicious !   But I did have Ice Creme with mine !

.

.

I was headed for the Chair to watch the Storm, It was Windy, Thunder, Lightning and a torrential Downpouring of rain, Tipper tried to beat me to my Chair but was watching the storm out the window !

.

.

The ditch's in front are carrying away the rain water off the roof we were getting in the downpours today !

.

.

Window is not foggy, the rain was horrific and it came down in sheets, the Temperatures were up to 65 to 68 degrees today, warm but with everything closed we just stayed home!  

.

Tomorrow is Saturday, We will go from 65 degrees today to tomorrow morning down to 18 degrees, WoW what a swing but nothing we are not used to !

.

Spring

Spring is here, AND so is the BBQ Season !  I went to the Garden Shed, Got out the Bar B Que Grill and cooked up a nice mess of Country Spare Ribs !
.

It was not that bad out today,  It was in the low 60's, My Honey raked the Lawn on the 19th of March,  It is nice to get outside, away from the Television and News and arguments and sadness !

.

Last year, April 16, 2019 was the first Bar B Que at West Side Terrace and we had not moved yet !

.

.

This was Grilling at the end of April in 2018,   There saying this is going to be an early spring !

.

.

My Honey pulling weeds and dead plants as spring is here !

.

Can't wait for fishing to start !!!!

.

Hunkered Down

We are "Hunkered Down",  We have food, bottled water, frozen meat, veggies and fruit and also canned meat, veggies and soups!  We will not run out of food.  
.
We now have all schools closed, all restaurants closed except for "Take-Out" or "Delivered" food, everything closes down at 8PM and now Churches are closing down till the end of April !
. 
I am nervous as I have a compromised Immune System and have to stay laying low !  No problem with that as it means I have to stay Home !!
.
Stores still having a run on Toilet Paper, Canned Goods, Meat and Bread and Milk,  Never seen anythink like it !  
.
Hope everyone stays Healthy !!!!!      WASH YER HANDS !!

WoW, Corono Virus COVID-19

All I can say is WoW !!!  A CORONO-19 Pandemic,  Daily Life is now on Hold !    We usually keep the freezer full and the Food Stock in the Basement stocked with Veggies, Canned Hams, Beef, Venison, Boxed Raisins, Peanuts, Peanut Butter !!
.
WE HAVE BEEN CALLED BY SEVERAL NEIGHBORS WHO WANTED TO CHECK ON US AND SEE IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING, 1 NEIGHBOR CAME OVER AND ASKED,  CAN NOT BEAT SMALL VILLAGES AND THEIR PEOPLE. !

We went to Dollar General and ALDI'S and what a ZOO !     I don't know what the need is for buying all the "Toilet Paper" off the shelves,  We had 2 fights here in our little Village by 2 people wanting the same rolls of Toilet Paper !

I remember this back on December 31, 1999 for Y2K when everyone went crazy when it was going to be the year 2000!!!!

We have just been notified that all School, Public and Private in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence County have been closed until April 17th !

All Military Travel from our local Fort Drum has been cancelled !

-

THANKFULLY all of our 5 area State Prisons have STOPPED Visitors from coming to Visit from all over New York State, a lot of these people come up here for the weekend from New York City and Long Island where this Virus is increasing !

Got a call that the Pastor at our Church is sick, can't talk and feels awful,  I will be stepping up and doing the Message and also doing 4 - 5 Praise songs !

I do "Clean Up Pretty Good" !

Well, It sure is interesting listening to the News and hearing about everything closing, shutting down, cancelling and thankfully we will have Church tomorrow !  Turning the TV on to Lawrence Welk and working on my Message tomorrow !

Has Spring Sprung

Well, has Spring Sprung or Sprang up here in the North Country !  Not "UpState" but the "North Country" !!!!  The only thing North of us is Canada,  !!!
.

.

This morning the wind was cool, 34 degrees, we have had lots of rain, warm temperatures, and more rain and the snow has slowly gone except for the piles and some snow banks !

.

Today was my Cardioligist appointment, I had a good checkup, heart, lungs and so I asked him about this Corono Virus,  He said there was a lot of hype about it,  but he said if there was a chance I had a fever and breathing problems to get quickly to the Emergency Room and call him,  We do not yet have any cases of it  but we right outside Fort Drum where these Military People travel all over to go home and come back !!!

.

We have a 25 Bed Hospital here in Carthage, My wife and I are on the Hospital Advisory Board, we just had out Monthly Meeting and Inspection and Walk Thru, We have no Cases yet of this Virus !

.

.

. We drove up to Humphrey Hill to check the Spring that comes out of the rock wall as this is a sure sign spring is coming as it unfreezes!

.

.

Sure enough, The Artisan Spring is running and pumping out fresh water from the rock !

.

.

The corn fields are free of most of the snow but very wet, the new Wind Turbines are really spinning out money for their owners, we now have 200 of them all in Lewis County, the last one in Lewis County sits on the Jefferson County Line as Jefferson County does not want them as they "Spoil" the view, LoL !!

.

.

The Cat, "Tipper" is getting more and more settled down but still growing, when we bought the Cat Castle we thought it would be big enough for her but as you can see we misjudged just how big she was going to get but she is a treat so far, but we have spring coming and don't know what to expect as she has never been outside and is almost a year old next month !

.

.

Glad to see bare ground in the Back Yard !!!!

My Honey is calling for "Supper" almost ready !    Glad to be feeling better, really glad to see "Spring" coming soon ! 

.

. Stay away from Crowds, WASH YOUR HANDS, WASH YOUR HANDS, and stay Healthy !    We are staying close to home now !

Up and At Em

I am finally getting there, I was down for a bit, did some sleeping and catching up an resting, did have a few Health Issues but am on another Medication !   It seems our "Blizzard" dumped on us:

We got 4 feet of snow, in places over 4 feet,  YUCK !!  Oh well, it was an Old Fashioned Storm !  My Honey behind the New snowbank in front of the house !

.

.

I went outside so My Honey could take my picture and this is where the cold chills started, tired, runny nose and breathing problems so back inside again for a few more days, 2 Doctors appointments and some new Medication !

.

.

I spent a lot of time curled up an covered up and rested up,  I am in a "Stroke Survivors" Group and a "Heart" group where e chat every night on a secure site.  This is a tough time for a lot of us as we are "House Flys" waiting for nice weather !    Remember it as been weeks and weeks since we have been outside in the warmth!!!!!!!  and "Sunshine" !!  Some people don't know how lucky they are who have "No Winter" !!!!

I did get to go to the "High Noon Club Lunch" at the Crystal Restaurant with a few of the Old Timeres who retires, there were a few not there due to this "Bug" going around.

.

.

I made it to the Nursing Home to Play last Tuesday Night and had a Great Time and Residents loved the cheering up !  So did we !

.

I will not be going back to the Nursing Home this Tuesday due to this Coronovirus, I have a weakened Imune System and need to stay out but I am OK to Play Monday Night at the Big Assisted Living Facility in Watertown !   Go figure !

.

.

Today it is 41 degrees out side and sunny, going to clean Bird Feeders, Put in Fresh Suet,  There was a sighting of a "Robin" North of us but we have not seen one, we have seen lots of Canadian Geese Flying north !

.

It is almost 3PM and my "Nap Time" to reboot !!!!!!!

.
