Basement Fire Place

Well another bitterly Cold and I am staying inside,  it was cold this Morning at - 10 Below Zero !  I have not gone outside in 2 days !   Have to be careful breathing in that bitter cold Frigid Air.

.

.
Dinner was Lebanese, My Honey made Mujedera which is Lentils and Rice well seasoned,  Shawrama which is Thinly sliced spiced Chicken and a dip, Fresh Brownies and Blueberry Crumb Bread an Pineapple Jello !   Delicious !,
.
.
Got the Music Area all set up, have Amplifiers set, Microphone up, an have been starting back playing again !
.
.
Been careful with this left hand, I was cutting Squash yesterday and sliced the side of my Thumb and covered the bathroom and sink in blood, While in Hospital I got shots in the Stomach of pure Hepburn to thin up the Blood after my heart Catherization and It is still bleeding so been changing dressing couple times a day !
.
.
The Basement wall, a window and the black Gas Line My Honey is Painting around this last year during the summer.
.
.
The same wall above this picture, Today we spent time hooking up the Electric for the Blower Motor and piping the Gas Line to this Gas Vent Less Fire Place.  My Son in Law spent several Hours getting it done and firing it up,  It is a PLEASANT HEARTH 20,000 BTU Fireplace and it was given to us by the Neighbors,   It is a couple years old, they bought a bigger one and gave us this one.  I installed another Carbon Monoxide detector and fire alarm for safety sakes !
.
Time to go change the dressing on my Thumb and relax for the rest of the evening !

My Honey working on the front yard, right behind her is the Green House we used to live in about 14 years ago,  We lived there and we were friends with everyone on the street.
.
.
This is 31 Wilna Avenue, next door to where we live now as it looked when we bought it and lived there, it was White  ! After we sold it they resided it to Green !
.
.
This was the back yard and 1 of our Campers parked out back, just close enough to the house in Case we wanted to go out and spend a night there !
.
.
Everything getting a good start in the Garage under heated bulb for the Garden Wine Bottle had Miracle Grow and Boric Acid and Sugar in it to sprinkle on the roots of transplants !
.
.
My Honey in front of the Garden at our Old House, back when bones and Joints moved free  and Backs didn't ache so much from bending over !
.
.
The basements in most of the Houses in Deferiet being a Mill Town were almost all the same in size and shape and ceiling height !

Memories Camp

Well, it's 9 degrees above Zero and temps are dropping,  I have to stay out of the bitter cold as it is not good for Heart Patients so I been inside.

.

I have been sorting thru some pictures and came across the pictures of my old Camp I had.

.

.
This was Camp Adirondack,  My Son Jonathan and I built it back in the 70's on a piece of land I bought off a fella up in Barnes Corners,  The lot was 100W X 200D an covered in Spruce Trees.  We cut the Trees down built the Platform 10 wide by 14 deep, the side addition was 8feet by 4 feet,  The side was an Indoor Out House, Inside was 1 open room and on the back was an addition that was 8 feet wide by 12 feet long which was the bedroom, Beds were buitl inside the camp,  I found a Ben Franklin Stove for heat and cooking and used it all fall, sometimes in winter and spring !
.
.
We really enjoyed using the Camp,  We stayed there a lot in the late summer, fall and some winter weekends.   We cut and hauled a lot of brush and spruce wood to burn and cleared the lot out,
and made it more open for sunlight and air !
.
.
We had 2 burn pits, 1 for brush and 1 for cooking, I am standing behind the 1 for cooking,  Pictures are kind of old and blurred, got to find some of the ones from inside the camp !
.
.
We would go up in the Winter and shovel off the rood as the Pitch was only slight just to allow no pooling of water.  It was not uncommon to get a snowfall of 2 feet of snow and then get another snowfall of a foot of snow,   I always propped up the inside with 4 x 4 posts to support the roof during winter !
.
Time to listen to a little Music with the Head Phones an stay warm !

Home Bound

Well, we were allowed to "Shower" this morning after we removed the Pressure Bandage and then covered it with an antibiotic and a band aide, shower sure felt good !!

.

.
A earlier Picture of a Trip to St Joe's when the Grass was Green and the air was warm !
.
.
This was my view from my area in the Hospital, Hospital was full and Patients were placed in Hallways with Curtains.  It was either this or stay home, Most Hospitals up here are Full !  I was lucky to get in and have my surgical procedure done !
.

.
Hard to believe that thru this small hole in my wrist they can go up thru my arm, around my shoulder, across my chest and into my Heart and while inside my heart can move around to any spot they want to check with precision and not damage the heart or veins,  They checked all my Stents, both heart chanbers and ventricules.
.
So, We can't go outside due to the Cold weather causing issues with breathing and Heart conditions so we watched the going on outside.
.
.
We do have a lot of Snow to Start off Mid Winter, so we need to get some off the roofs !
.
.
My Roof is done but the Neighbor Hired a man to come with a "Snow Rake" to pull the excess snow off her roof !
.

.
This Ice next door is caused by a loss of Heat and lack of Insulation inside the attic or crawlspace !
.
Well, it's time for my afternoon Nap !

Catching Up

Well we had a "Bad Spell" and ended up in the Hospital again,  I was having recurring chest pain and short of breath, pain in left arm and back which are all not good signs.  I ended up in the Carthage ER and was kept in ICU overnight, I was Transported to Syracuse, 1 1/2 hour ride in Ambulance and taken to St. Josephs Hospital Cardiac unit.

Wife not allowed to Visit but she came to visit me outside my window, I could Only wave to her and her me.  Sad !

.

.
My Honey got to see me OUTSIDE the CAH as they were loading me to Transport me to Syracuse to St. Joes.
.
I had a Covid 19 Test at Carthage Hospital which was Negative but had to have another one to be admitted to St. Joes.
Another Negative Test by Nose Swab.  I had my Covid Shot on January 14th but My Honey can't as not 65 Yet !

I went right to the Heart Cath Lab and A Nice Doctor came out and examined me and I was prepped and went right into the Operating room, stripped and laid out for another Heart Cath,  Dr. Welch did the Cath and then I went to recovery, I had my Phone and was able to keep in Contact with My Honey as there are no Visitors Allowed in Hospitals nor are Wives allowed in due to this Covid. Nurse took my Photo,  Great Nurses and Staff and Support people as usual !

.

.
All Stents were checked, wire  all ran thru stents, no blockages and some stenosis noted on some,  The Myrocardial Bridge it seems caused the Problems again .  Seems the Muscle is thickening around the LED and slowing down Blood Flow,  Medications changed, Hepburn Shots were given in the Stomach area to thin out Blood even more than it was to allow for faster flow during recovery.  I was taken to Holding area to stay and spend the night for recovery !
.
Up Early for Echogram of the Heart and Blood work, I then started to get out of bed and had to Walk the Hallway as they monitored my Blood Pressure and Heart Rate an was walked with a Nurse by my side, I did this all day off and on,  I did OK, recovery was OK so called my Honey and advised her I was being released and she could come and get me,  It is over an Hour Ride from Home to Syracuse.   She called me from the front entrance and a Nurse wheeled me down to go home.
.
.
Home and Right to Bed, Tired and sore, slept like a Rock.  Got up this Morning and slowly moved around, No Shower or Bath as cannot get Incision wet nor uncover it and remove pressure Bandage.  The Blue Strap on my Right wrist is incision where they get to go thru into the Heart.
.
Its Cold outside, already 2 below Zero at 9PM !!!

January Cold

We know winter is here, we had minus 1 below zero here in Little Deferiet !   That was cold this morning but to be rewarded for the cold we had a day of "Sunshine", first day of Sun in almost a "Week" !!!

.

I read with interest the entry on Shipslog:   Shipslog (shipslog-jack.blogspot.com)

on Jack and Sherry's Blog their Travels, pictures of their Motor Homes !  Interesting, like posts with Pictures.

.

.
This was our very First Camper,  We towed this to Virginia to visit a friend in Franklin, from there we were going to Appling Georgia to see my Best Friend Mike who I went to School with and had not seen in almost 22 years, this picture was October 6th, the day we hitched up and left New York State.
.
We left New York and made it to Doswell Virginia, we stayed there 1 night and a day and it was warm and enjoyable.  We learned fast to rely on each other as the Pilot and Co-Pilot, we were driving a 1972 Ford, F150 5 speed V8 with a small Oil Leak on the rear main bearing.
. We next went to Franklin Virginia and spent a week with my Friend Stewart who worked at Union Camp Paper Mill as Shift Supervisor and enjoyed our visit.
.
We then Headed for Georgia and saw my High School Friend Mike. then left for Florida !
.

.
We sold the Camper,  we sold it for $500 dollars and bought this 1955, 8 X 30 1 bedroom Mobile Home and lived here for a while in the Peace River Mobile Home Park on a Canal, The summers were too Hot so we packed up, sold the mobile home for $500 dollars and went Back to Northern New York,  *(Must of had a crazy spell) !
.
..
Back in New York we went back to work and Bought a nice camper and Put it on a nice lot on Lake Bonaparte up in Lewis County.
We really liked this Camping spot and we camped here every Summer for over 20 years !   We would stay weeks here or sometimes weekends, we would be here from when Snow left till about October and sometimes would go up and spend winter weekends here !
.
.
This was our Last Camper, a nice new Aliner, we really liked it but we decided we wanted to buy a House, so we sold the camper, looked around and Bought a house which we really like !
