We know winter is here, we had minus 1 below zero here in Little Deferiet ! That was cold this morning but to be rewarded for the cold we had a day of "Sunshine", first day of Sun in almost a "Week" !!!

This was our very First Camper, We towed this to Virginia to visit a friend in Franklin, from there we were going to Appling Georgia to see my Best Friend Mike who I went to School with and had not seen in almost 22 years, this picture was October 6th, the day we hitched up and left New York State.
.
We left New York and made it to Doswell Virginia, we stayed there 1 night and a day and it was warm and enjoyable. We learned fast to rely on each other as the Pilot and Co-Pilot, we were driving a 1972 Ford, F150 5 speed V8 with a small Oil Leak on the rear main bearing.
. We next went to Franklin Virginia and spent a week with my Friend Stewart who worked at Union Camp Paper Mill as Shift Supervisor and enjoyed our visit.
.
We then Headed for Georgia and saw my High School Friend Mike. then left for Florida !

We sold the Camper, we sold it for $500 dollars and bought this 1955, 8 X 30 1 bedroom Mobile Home and lived here for a while in the Peace River Mobile Home Park on a Canal, The summers were too Hot so we packed up, sold the mobile home for $500 dollars and went Back to Northern New York, *(Must of had a crazy spell) !
.
..
Back in New York we went back to work and Bought a nice camper and Put it on a nice lot on Lake Bonaparte up in Lewis County.
We really liked this Camping spot and we camped here every Summer for over 20 years ! We would stay weeks here or sometimes weekends, we would be here from when Snow left till about October and sometimes would go up and spend winter weekends here !
.
This was our Last Camper, a nice new Aliner, we really liked it but we decided we wanted to buy a House, so we sold the camper, looked around and Bought a house which we really like !

Thanks for your history lesson. Great stories also, with the stops and 'reasons' if there are any solid ones. hahahaha. WE like Peace River and especially enjoyed 'Pioneer Days' over in Wauchula. Yep the summers can get too hot.
It is nice to have an RV of any kind so you can visit old friends. Isee you guys like to have your OWN bed where ever you go...
Sending love to the COLD from our 60s weather near Orlando.
Sherry & jack
We usually make it down to Peace River, but they are filling up too!
