Outside Deck

Well, we are starting or continuing with the back Deck, we started working on it as you saw in an earlier Post,  Well, today our neighbor came over after work and brought her Pressure washer with her and started to pressure wash the deck !
.
.
This little electric Jobber is powerful and does a nice job !
.
.
This is our Neighbor Ali, she works for the New York State Transportation Department, she is an Engineer,Her Boyfriend is a New York State Trooper, they live next door ! she is very smart and a very hard worker.  This is where she started work on the Lath and deck !
.
.
This is what it looked like after she blasted it, what a worker she is !
.
.
She spent 3 hours and pressure washed the whole deck and then she did an antique wooden plant stand Anna Mae had in the garage stored.
.
.
The little plant stand chair looked really good when she got it done !
.
.
I made a "Bird Feeder", I copied one from pictures I took of one I liked and after a couple mistakes and rebuilds I ended up with this one hanging on the right,  I used a piano hinge on the roof so I could fill it from the top !
.
.
While Ali pressure washed the Deck I did some mowing as I now mow in sections as I have to limit my time on the rider as the Vibrations even on this smooth running little Gem could cause issues but it does !

Catch up

Well, June 16th, 2010 was the Day of my Stroke, seems so far back those 10 years, but it was a rough row to hoe from wheelchair, to walker, to canes and then walking !!  But I was and am blessed !.
.
Well, we have been busy for a few days, Doctors, Dentist, ENT and Eyes.  First we started off with my little accident.
.
.
I walked into the cellar door, took a good shot to the eyebrow and sure did see Stars and staggered back to the kitchen table and sat down !
.
.
I don't think I knocked any sense into my head but I sure did hurt for a couple days, and I ended up with a Bone Bruise !  Headache and sick to my stomach for a while but have had worse, not the first time I was ever knocked down !
.

.
.
This rose bush is planted beside my Dads Grave Site in Gates Cemetary.  Beautiful Tea Roses bush,  I was lucky as when my brother dug them up from my Parents house he dug me up one also and I have off shoots off if the original Plant my dad bought back in 1930 !
.
.
This is a Rose Bush I planted at My Daughters House on the Jackson 2 Road about 5 years ago and it it still there growing.
.
.
This Rose Bush is Growing still at West Side Terrace I planted there 12 years ago and still going great !  I have planted Rose Bushs for years, they are growing in Champion, City of Watertown, Barnes Corners, Edwards, Myrtle Beach, Limburg Forks, Carthage, West Carthage, and Deferiet. Florida was too hot for them !
.
.
I planted these Roses at 31 Wilna Avenue 16 years ago when we lived here and before I got sick and we had to sell and move into Senior Citizen Housing in West Carthage.
.
.
This Rose Bush I planted last year at 33 Wilna Avenue and redug it up and transplanted it out front of the house this spring and it is taking off nicely !  So there is now a Nice Rose Bush at 31 and 33 Wilna Avenue all from my Dads Rose Bush he bought back in 1930 !!!
.
.
While I played in the Rose Bushs and flowers My Honey did Curtains and finally got to use the clothes lines I put up for her to use !
.
.
Well, after all the Outside work, with the New Covid 19 guidelines we were able to go to Shortys Diner,  I finally had Diner Coffee in a Diner with My Beautiful Honey,
.
.
I ordered the Special, Eggs over easy, a pancake, sausage, bacon, ham, homefries, toast and maple syrup and lots of butter,  Then i split it with My Honey and took some time to enjoy our Breakfast Feast and the Coffee, all delicious !

Deck Work

Well, we have to work on our Deck, No not the Deck on a Ship, our back Porch, the lath is really bad and we have to find out what underneath the deck that smells !
.
.
Anna Mae cleared out the debris under the deck after I got the old lath off !
.
.
I got the Lath off, Anna Mae crawled under and found there was a matting material under the deck and it was covered with much from bark !
.
.
Under the deck removing staples and getting mulch ready to put in pails for me to carry !
.
.
The underlayment if a fine mesh metal material that was used on a paper machine to start making a roll of paper.
.
.
We hauled roughly 10 pails of bark mulch out and piled them behind the Garden shed from under the deck !   Now to wait and let it dry out underneath, we are planning on staining it and don't know it we will put the Lath back on !

Bar B Q an loss of a Friend

Well, warmer weather, lots of Rain and Thunderstorms and it cooled down, We had some nice Spare Ribs and Pork Steak so I fired up the Grill,  My Webber !!
.
.
I like Charcoal cooking, there is a nice taste to Pork cooked over charcoal slowly and we eat more Port than Beef !
.
And it is time for Bar B Q Pork Spare Ribs, Pork Steak, Fresh Homemade Macaroni Salad, Homemade apple sauce and homemade BBQ Dipping Sause !
.
.
My Honey likes BBQ like I do and it was a good meal, we are truly Blessed !
.
Yesterday was a Sad Day, we went to the Burial of a Fellow Police Officer I worked years with.  We all chipped in and Bought his Wife a "Memorial Apple Tree" and it was delivered (Saturday) and Planted.  Nice big tree !
.
.
Standing in Line we watched as the Tree was unloaded into a predug hole that had most of Mikes Ashes spread in the Bottom and the Tree was placed on top of them !
.
.
Tom followed by Mikes Widow Donna went and spread the remainder of her Husbands Ashes on top of the root ball and let them finish planting the Apple Tree.
.
.
The Apple Tree, Mikes Ashes, and we then we all gathered after it was Planted !
.
.
It was a sad day but Mike suffered 2 years with Cancer and now his pain is over, his widow is pleased and we did our Duty to a Fellow Policeman with Pride, Courage and Commitment !
.
We have another Policeman in the ICU in Syracuse at Crouse Memorial, he had a mole on his back cut off, it was cancer, it has spread thru his body and he is comng home on Hospice,  he is younger than I am and was part of my Class !

My Honey pulling weeds, trimming Roses and planting Grass seed !
.
.
Got the Moss Rose planted, Grass seed spread on the edge, covered it with fine coat of dirt and when I stood up, I went back down,  Think I overdid it in the sun !
.
.
My Honey got me into the Shade, got some G2 drink for me and I rested, caught my breath and went in and took a shower, lay down at 1 and slept till 4PM still feeling a little off, Checked my Blood Pressure and O2 stats and relaxed in the recliner !

Haircut and Surgery

Well, finally after almost 9 weeks without a "Haircut" I went in for my turn with an appointment this morning,  I wore my "Mask", she wore her Mask and gloves and I got a nice Haircut from a great lady!!  BUT when she cut the sideburns underneath was an ugly brown spot, she told me about it said I should have it looked at as it was not there on my last haircut,  and after showing my Honey she called the Doctor and explained what I had !
.
.
The Doctor said to come right in and back into Town we went to his Office !
.
.
Well, The good Doctor went to work and we went into the Surgical/procedure room and had it removed and it will be sent out to a Lab to see what it is !
.
.
On my right side he spotted an area that I would shave over and he felt it should be removed also as he did not like the color of it or the fact I nicked it everytime I shaved!    SO off went this one also!    Now I guess I am supposed to wear a Hat in the sun !!
.
.
So I was home and in the recliner by noon after 2 minor surgeries, right now my face is sore on both sides !  Although he can not say they are not cancerous he did say he got most of them cut out !
.
I have a good Doctor, he was a Captain in the Army and was also a "Door Gunner" on a Chopper and my Honey used to be his Office Manager for many years !
.
Don't forger, Remember our Vets !
