COLD OUTSIDE

Well, it has got cold,  I mean COLD, it was 15 BELOW ZERO this morning, it was 7 BELOW at 10 PM last night.
This is the kind of weather where you walk outside and your nose freezes shut, the coldest we have up here was around 1974 when it got down to MINUS 52 BELOW ZERO !!
.
That is the kind of weather you just stay inside and eat.
.

Well, we have been helping My Honey as much as I can, we are walking, (INSIDE) for about 10 minutes every couple of hours.  She is still on the monitor,  wears it 24 hours a day for a while longer.
.
We went to our Cardiologist this morning for checkups, he says we are doing OK but wants to monitor Anna Mae another week just to be on the safe side, I have to wear a mask or scarf when I go outside to avoid any problems with the COPD and CAD.
.
.

.
We went over to the Carthage Skilled Nursing Unit Tuesday night, and man it was cold, about 5 below zero, you have to go early so the guitars can warm up or you cant tune them.
.

.
We played for the residents and they enjoyed it all most as much as we enjoy doing it.
.

.
Karl does a good job on "In The Garden" .
.

.
We get a lot of enjoyment out of doing this, also the residents enjoy it also.
.
I am using the new Dell 17" laptop to do this post as the Toshiba is going down the drain, we both have new Dell laptops and are trying to get used to Windows 8, as soon as we do they will change it.
.
Everyone stay warm!!!

Don't forget our Veterans, those who are serving and those who have served.

Winter is COLD

.

It has been different so far this winter, we started out with no snow, then just before Christmas we got cold and snow, then in January we got our January Thaw as usual and the snow melted and lots of green grass, now it is cold, it was only 9 above this morning  and so far today has not gotten abobe 15 degrees, gonna get cold.
.

We are still up North, Anna Mae has developed some Heart problems, she is much too young for this, she was in the Emergency Room, then the Hospital on monitors, IV's and had some medications changed,  she now has on a 30 day monitor for awhile, it records issues and sends them to the Hospital thru a phone line.
.
One option is going to Syracuse to St. Joes and have to have ambulation which means a wire into the heart to look around or possible having other procedures such as a Pacemaker.   Hopefully it will be just some Medication changes.

.
This winter is not like last winter, we have more snow now than they got all last winter.
.
My Toshiba Laptop is slowly Dying, it will not let me upload pictures to my Blog, I ordered 2 "Dell" Laptops, I still have my Dell Tower I bought in 2001 and it still works so l am going back to "Dells" , 1 for me and 1 for Anna Mae.
.
Hope everyone is enjoying the Winter and staying Warm.
.
Please Pray for us as we enter a 2nd Term with Obama as President, also please pray for us in New York State as our Idiot Governor has signed a new "Assault Rifle" Bill,.

Please keep our Veterans in your Prayers!!!

Peace River Florida

.
I saw my friend Jack's post at Shipslog about the Peace River,  We left New York with the Green Old Ford and our camper home, this was what we had to live in along with my camp up in Barnes Corners.  We went to bed with a cool evening but during the night it got cold and snowed, this picture is the morning we left for Florida.   The Old Ford needed a rear main bearing and used a bit of oil, we put in a quart of oil every 600 to 800 miles, she was a good old truck, we made it down and back and down and back to Florida several times, this was 1989.

.
We ended up in the Peace River Mobile Home Park at 29208 Snook Circle off Turbak Drive which is outside Punta Gorda on Highway 17.  We met John Turbak who was a Hillslboro County Deputy and nice man who always brought us oranges and grapefruit.
.

.
We sold our camper and bought this 10 X 55 Trailer, it was a beauty, Maple Cabinets, full bath with tub, closets, all furnished with 2 air units and a 10 X 30 Patio and well landscaped.
.
The park was mostly people retired from up in Michigan, our neighbor was Bert, he had every tool, drill, bit, nut, bold and screw you would ever need,  he took us fishing every day and later on when he traded boats he GAVE us his trade in for us to use.     Every night he would bring Anna Mae over a fresh popped bag of PopCorn.
.
The fishing was excellant, the Peace River was Salt and farther up turned into Brackish water and then is was fresh water, there were some Indian Burial Grounds up in the fresh water section and it had some beautiful streches of white sandy beaches scattered about, all you had to look our for were Alligators and Sting Rays.  We caught a lot of little Sugar Trout and Catfish.   Even a few sting rays.    I helped a man in the Park with Crab Pots and we always had fresh crab to eat.
.
We left the park after a year or so and went back to New York to the Cold and Snow for some unknown reason.   Probably "Nuts" !!
.
A Hurricane came thru some years later and trashed this beautiful park, we checked in on it several times on our last trip down and it is a DUMP, beyond anything I would want to move into again.
.
We have had lots of cold, lots of snow and plenty of sickness but hope 2013 turns around for us, we might not make Florida due to funding caused by Medical Bills but are trying to at least get to Myrtle Beach hopefully in February.
.

.
We sure do have snow this year.
