Thankful Time

Well it is Turkey Time again, We here at West Side Terrace hire the Methodist Church Youth Group to cook, prepare and serve us our Thanksgiving Dinner.  They did it last year and was so good we brought them back again this year and they did not charge us an arm and a leg to do it.
.
.
Anna Mae and I and Mark Bierman set up the dining room in the morning,  we can seat 42 people, there are a total of 64 residents in our Building but we normally average 35 to 40 when we have an event.
.
.

..
.
The Methodist Church has 2 women youth leaders and they bring a few of their youth with them due to lack of room, some of the food is cooked at church and brought over here in broilers and kept heated till we eat.
.
.
Our meal was turkey, dressing, potatoes, gravy,  cranberry sauce, squash, mixed veggies, homemade rolls for our main meal at 2PM and it was delicious.
.
.
we had 2 tables of Home made deserts, the ladies from the Methodist Church did a lot of cooking and donated all the deserts for our meal.
.
.
Our dinner was served, Lady on the right in white sweater refuses to wear hearing aides and sometimes get a little mean when you try to talk to her !
.
.

.
Man on right, Billy is deaf and uses sign language,  his wife Tina is unable to walk, I pick on him something awful but we are good friends.
.

.

Lady in center was taken to Syracuse right after dinner with Heart Palpitations and unsteady on her feet, her Medicines caused most of her problems.
.

.
Everyone talks a little loud for awhile but when they serve these full plates of food it gets quiet.
.
.

.
We just had Bruce on the left just get out of the Hospital with Heart Problems, they put in his first Stent..
.
.
Everyone was served in 10 minutes, we fed 40 People, 7 of these meals were put up and delivered to their apartments as they could not and did not want to come down and join us.
.
.
The meal was delicious and  desert was Pumpkin, apple, custard,  pie and also Apple Crisp which I had.
.
.
.
We are so Thankful, for our Health, Family and Friends and enjoyed our Thanksgiving here at West Side Terrace.

I know youand Anna Mae are appreciated there at West Side Terrace. How nice to be able to get great service and help a church. It is really nice that the youth can spend the time on Thanksgiving to be a 'BLESSING'.

Yep I know you guys have a great time and don't doubt out of 40+ folk you have a couple sour dudes. But they too appreciate what is done whether they know how to admit it or not.

The best to you guys and glad you all had a super time....
