Nice Weather

Still nice weather, warm in the 50's, 2 years ago we had winter, snow, cold and windy.

This was November 13th, 2014 when we got 8 inches of snow and winds out of the West, looking at this picture the wind is coming from the west and I am looking due North.

This November instead of Snow we have Sunshine and green grass so far but this is going to change!!!

This was our Full Moon on 11/14, it was the closest to the Earth since 1948.   This month we will have 2 full Moons !
.

This is our living room, I took the windows out, got the Vinegar and water and washed the inside and outside of the windows, we aired out the apartment, My Honey used Clorox on the Kitchen and Bathroom floors, we will get the Carpet Cleaned and do the carpets this week as it is going to be up in the 60's.  I did almost have   Chick-A-Dee's come inside from the feeder.

I cleaned the windows today as Sunday or Monday we are going to get SNOW !!!

We have the little Camper all winterized, drained all the water, put in anti freeze, scattered Bounce Fabric Softener sheets around the inside and also several places we put Oil of Peppermint Extract to keep the Mice out which works we found out from experience.   We had a Pop-Up Camper we stored 1 winter and come spring the Mice had moved in and chewed up everything making nests.

Checkup in Syracuse

Well, it's November and we made out annual trek to Syracuse for my yearly check up by Dr. Zyman who preformed a plugged Carotid Artery by-pass 13 years ago,  I have to go back every year and have both sides checked to ensure I do not have another Stroke, I had 2 TIA"S before my stroke.

The stitches on the outside were metal and also there were metal on the inside which I can still feel.  They put in another Carotid Artery made out of Kevlar and left it in after surgery and this increased blood to the brain.  The picture above was 7 days after my birthday and back when I had hair.

We go a day early to Syracuse usually on a sunday as my appointment is always a year apart and I keep them on a Monday.  We make it a little R & R as it is a better way to spent the day.

The weather has so far been great, upper 50's and we went to Onondaga Lake to look at the start of the Christmas decorations coming up called  "Lights on the Lake" .
.

I would rather see Merry Christmas but Happy Holidays I guess makes it fair to all Religions .
.

It was a beautiful day to relax around the Lake !   We know that soon this lake will be frozen and there will be lots of snow coming.

We left the Park and drove thru a Big Old Cemetery  and walked around and relaxed.  I love the Older Statues and Civil war parts of them.

This is the Civil War Area, I wonder these looking at the different Units and Companies involved and the ages of when they passed. We left and went back to the Motel for a swim in the heated salt water pool and relaxed for my checkup.

Well, I passed my Checkup but consider myself "Blessed"   instead of Lucky because I have a great Health Team.
.

Association Birthday Dinner

The 2nd Wednesday of every month here at West Side Terrace we have a Birthday Dinner put on by the residents, we all bring a Cover Dish or Desert to pass.
.

We have a Community Room that will seat 45 people and a full kitchen with a dish washer for easy clean up.
.

.
We put 7 cards on the tables numbered 1 thru 7 and I draw from 7 playing Cards to see who goes to eat.
.

.
Food was Pork Roast, Meat Balls, Salt Potatoes, Mac and Cheese, Applesause, Beefaroni, Baked Beans, Corn Chowder and bread.
.

AND, the Desert Table, home made apple Pie, Cherry pie, cake, cookies, pumpkin pie and in the frig we had Ice Creme and fresh coffee, couldn't get any better.

I am still laying low and Anna Mae went to ENT Specialist this afternoon for her voice and throat, they increased her meds but no permanent damage, just gonna take sometime to heal. 
.
Tomorrow is 11/11, Veterans Day.  Thank You all Veterans.

Health Issues

What a week this has been, We had a small overheated dish on a stove in an adjoining apartment down the hallway, and it melted the Teflon Coated pan, some smoke and fumes, Poor wife of mine found the Apartment, pulled the Fire Alarm so the building would evacuate,  and got the lady out, BUT she suffered some inhalation problems and was put in the Hospital, unable to talk, breathing and coughing problems,  She spent 3 days in Hospital and now has to see an ENT specialist for her voice and throat as the Teflon fumes did some damage to her throat.

 .
To make things worse, Thursday night after I left the Hospital from visiting with the wife in her ICU room at the Hospital, I went into Afib, chest pain and hard time breathing,  I went to ER, my wife was brought to the ER in a wheelchair by a Nurse to see me off with a Kiss,  they transferred me by Ambulance to St. Josephs Cardiac Center in Syracuse, it was a 1 1/2 hour ambulance ride. 
.
I got to St Joes and was stabilized and admitted to Cardiac Floor. It is now noon, Friday and I am scheduled for Heart Catherization,  My Wife was discharged from the Carthage Hospital and went home, grabbed her bag and drove all the way to Syracuse, she arrived just as they were coming to get me to take me to the Operating Room/Cath Lab.
.
They did Angioplasty and found 2 stents placed in March 95% plugged, they were opened, a balloon was inserted into the Heart and the plugged stents were forced open and I was returned to my room,  took about 2 hours,   got to my room and was greeted by my Honey.  Great Doctors, Nurses, Specialists. We were blessed, they brought a cot to the Room where my wife could sleep and stay in my room with me.
.
I am sore, have some chest pain, shoulder pain, have many puncture wounds from Blood draws and also where the Dr. went into an artery in my right wrist to get to the heart.
.
 
We are now both home, snuggled down,  We had and still have a lot of People Praying for us and there is Power In Prayer !.
We will spend next week seeing specialists but we will be together. 
.
I want to thank all Veterans Past and Present for their Service to their Country.

Ghosts, Devils, Cops, Ninjas

Tonight was our Halloween Party at West Side.  We started early at 1PM filling bags of candy.

We all mixed all the candy we bought together !

We just kept filling bags.

We finished filling 200 bags of candy for the evening, Halloween tonight will be cloudy and Temps about 45 so will be easy on the kids and goblins !

My best one of the night was after handing this little guy some candy he said, "I Love You" ! no idea who's child he was but he made my night !!

We even had some teenagers, well behaved and really dressed up !!

Residents were getting tired after 2 hours of kids coming and going !!

We are almost done for the evening,

We served almost 200 children in 2 hours and had a great evening.
 .

First Snowfall

Well, we got it today, October 27th about noon, got some rain and temps were 34, we went to Watertown to Eye Doctor for me as I need new glasses.
.

The flowers have "Bit the Dust", today's Snow and last nights frost got them.

We did see a sight, it was a Flock of white Snow Geese in a corn field, late ones heading south.
.

Everything is set for Winter, Grill all set.    Hopefully can get in some hunting as need some fresh Venison for the Freezer.
.

I will be so glad when this Election is over !!

Fall is Fading !

Well, we have enjoyed SUMMER and also FALL, but as the leaves change colors and drop off the trees, in moves the rain,  the Swamps are dry, not a lot of standing water, hunting season coming up fast and so changes in the weather.
.

.
We have had 3 days of rain, lots of rain, rivers are high, creeks are high and the Swamps are filling up and we have our first Winter Advisory Posted on TV.
.

.
The rain has soaked into the ground but not changed this Artisan Well located on Humphrey Hill, this spring runs almost year round and the water is cold, clear and you can see where there is a pull off area in front of t to park.
.

.
With the Swamps filling up with water, wood being cut for next year, Deer Season now open for hunting our Winter is not far off.
.

.
Lake Placid is just about an hour and a half from here and they got SNOW today. 
.

.
Old Forge is about an hour from us and they got it today !!   Tomorrow it is supposed to stop the raining and Snowing, we have already had Snow Plows and Sanders out tonight, our Temps right now are 36 degrees.
.
Hope everyone is getting settled for Winter, by Tuesday and Wednesday our overnight lows will be in the low 20's !!!!!.
