Church Work

 We are planning on reopening Church on Palm Sunday, the 28th at 11 AM,  We have been having services on ZOOM every Sunday at 11AM on Computers and phones,  We still will also have ZOOM when we have In House Worship !  The requirements from New York State require some type of protection between the speakers and the congregation so they are protected.  As a Member of the Board of Trustees and only Man on the Board It was "delegated" to me to do something !

I decided the easiest way and cost effective way to do this separation was with Acrylic, so I set off and "Got Er Done" !

.

.

Working on the Speakers/Lay Readers Podium I had to predrill the Acrylic and then match those holes and drill the Podium to match, i was careful so when this Covid Mess is over I can remove this sheet and fill and stain the holes !

.

.

Shield installed and Does not look bad and will work so speaker does not have to wear a Mask when Reading or Speaking as they had to do before the Plastic shield installed.

I installed the Acrylic on the Pastors Pulpit and you can barely see it as the lighting is less and does not reflect as much,  It works for our Pastor Kelly who is standing behind it !

The last item to work on was the Shield for our Vocalist as we are only allowed 1 singer,  I installed a sheet of Acrylic onto the Music Stand and used Clips to secure it, this allows the shield to be raised or lowered depending upon who is singing on Sunday !

.

Job Done and was inspected by Nurse and she gave us the OK to go ahead,  we can have 31 People in Church for Services and if need be we will have 2 Services per Sunday till restrictions ease up !

Springtime

 Well we finally got a nice warm Spring like Day, Temps got all the way up to 65 but in the Sun it felt warmer !

.

It was nice here at "Lazy Akers" and nicer being able to wander around outside after Church in a T Shirt, so we decided to cook out later !

.

.

Snow is leaving us but some places it is going to hang on for awhile, this is snow but also it has a large amount of Ice in it from the rood dripping snow melt into it !  This is Snow that was removed from the Roof this past winter 2 times !

.

My Honey cleaning off the Deck under the Open Bird Feeder, We took down the Christmas Lights today in T Shirts today and put them away till this Fall !!

.

.

This is under the Bird Feeder where the Rotten, Nasty, Pain in the Butt  Grey Squirrels literally "Chewed " away the wood off the Lath to get thru to under the Deck to get to Bird Seed, mainly Sun Flower Seeds !

We got the Grill out, fired up, Burgers made and ready to "Grill" Dinner !

.

.

Burgers Cooking and I am soaking up some warmth and enjoying the Sunshine !

.

Dinner is Served,  Burgers covered with White Cheddar Cheese, Mt. Olive Dill Pickles and a Tossed Salad,    Awesome Meal !!

Springing Ahead

Well it looks like we are finally "Springing ahead, Today is the first day of Spring and it is about 50 out in the Sunshine but that wind is cold !!!

.

The "Pussy Willows" are budding out, This is a sure sign of "Spring' !  The species most commonly called pussy willow in the Northeast, Salix discolor, is a small, shrubby species of willow that can be found dotting wetlands and moist woods throughout much of North America.

.

.

The Daffodils are coming up thru the unfrozen Ground which is nice to see the Green and soon Yellow flowers in the green/brown winter Grass !

.

.

There are Hundreds and Hundreds of Geese flying overhead an some are high and some are lower that are going to land on the river which is right near us, they are loud and messy but a nice sign of Spring !

.

.

The Robins have been spotted scampering between the patches of Snow looking for bugs and worms, We also have Red Wing Blackbirds.

.

.

We were driving up to Church this morning and outside the Village My Honey looked over and yelled "Eagles" and sure enough there was 2 American Bald Eagles setting down onto the Ice in the Black River,  it is a Treat an thrill to see them, we have probably 8 Pairs of them around this area and seeing them is amazing and using her phone we got a couple blurry pictures, I was parked in the road and didn't have much time to sit there in case of a car coming up behind us !

We are going back to Church Palm Sunday an I have to install some barriers for Church Regs befor we open !

Marching Along

 Well, it's the middle of the Month and it is cold, we had BELOW ZERO Temps around some areas, we were 14 degrees this morning but supposed to warm up mid week up into the 40's !  We will take it as hoping it gits rid of now !!!

Looking out my Window you can see dry green grassy areas where we are losing our snow cover, just not fast enough, we have seen several Red Wing Black Birds which have come back and 1 Robin came in.  Have not seen any Flocks of Canadian Geese yet but the white Snow Geese have been coming North but not up our way, they are staying SE of us where all the farm corn fields are.

Dinner tonight was Tuna Noodle Casaeroule topped with French's Onion Bits an Mt. Olive Dill Pickles an Bread and Butter, nice comforting meal on a bitter cold evening !

My Honey has On Line Bible study tonight so I am heading down to the Basement to putter, play a little music and relax !

Time Change

 Well, I didn't get up at 2:00 A.M. and change the clocks setting them ahead 1 hour,  instead I was smart enough to do it before I went to bed !!!! LoL !!! 

.

It was a quiet weekend, I was a little off Saturday, not feeling quite up to par but today was a better day !  We had our Church this morning on ZOOM and it only had a couple glitch's but was OK, we are discussing going back into Church at end of the Month. 

.

.

Dinner tonight was Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Patties covered in some Real Maple Syrup,  English Muffin, Orange slices and a little Peanut butter with Cranberry Juice !!!

.

Picture of the newest addition, This is the Granddaughter Shannon, Aiden our Great Grandson and Amelia the Great Granddaughter,  Shannon is a Nurse in the Operating Room at the Hospital in the City !   Her Husband also works at the Hospital in Management.

The Cat, "Tipper"  giving me the evil eye as it is 10PM,  Really 9PM and Bedtime !  It is a old night and 18 degrees and clear and cold !    Spring is coming soon I hope !

Weekend here

 Well the weekend is here, but then it's not much different than say Wednesday and Thursday or Monday and Tuesday except there is Church on 1 day !     Hope I don't forget to turn the clocks ahead that 1 hour !!!

Last night we had our first major Rain Storm of Spring, I mean it poured an windy and it did take away about a foot of snow but still have lots of snow left,  It was 65 yesterday, Thursday and today it was only 37.

.

I used our warm day Thursday to Bar-B-Q and I cooked a Nice big Pork Steak an Aspragus on the grill and was it ever good !

.

Pork Steak, Veggies and fresh Biscuits and good eats !

Relaxing Sunday

 A quiet Sunday,  Up early, watched some News an Weather and then Oatmeal,  Oatmeal is my Sunday breakfast Treat, during the week I have a Oat Bran Muffin and a Banana twice a week !  Saturday is better as then we have Bacon and Eggs, Toast and Juice and then nothing more till dinner at 5:30 !

I had to go to the Garage so this was the attire as it was - 6 BELOW this morning but it did warm up, right now it is 14 degrees !! 

.

.

Phone Pic of tonight's sunset looking towards our Neighbor on the west side, still about 2 feet or more in areas on the level of Snow but hoping weatherman is right and we get 55 an 58 on Wednesday and Thursday and it melts and wash's away some of this accumulation !

Tuesday Night, March 9th will be our Legion Meeting and Election of Officers, Last April we did not have Elections as National said those in Office could remain in Office for another year as there was no legion meetings !  I have been asked to go back in as the Historian again,  I was the Past Historian, a Post I held for over 15 years and I served 2 years as Finance Officer.  Nominations are in March, Election in April and Installation is in May !     Will see what happens at the meeting Tuesday.

Marching along

 Well, we have entered March and  left 2 Months of winter behind us this year,  Wind, Cold, Snow, those Icy Roads and White Outs !

This Morning I had my appointment at the Doctors in Watertown so while sitting here this Morning I heard that Rumble, felt the house shivver a little and looking out the Bay Window saw approaching Fort Drum a Big old C-117.

You can see him approaching in the Circle at 8 o'clock !

The Fort Drum Air Field was busy this Morning, This old Boy above has gone right over the house about 6 Times so far at 11:20 AM. House shakes, ground shakes, Love it, Another sign of our "Freedom" !!!!

So we went to the EyeDoctor, I did OK, will be getting New Glasses!!!!

We got home and checked on the Crock Pot and the nights dinner and it was gonna be good !

We cooked 2 Lamb Shanks yesterday, cooled them and deboned the meat, let the Meat set all night in it's cooking juices, this morning cut it up and put it in the Slow cooker with Mushrooms, Onions and cooked it all day, *9 Hours),  we cooked Rice and served the Lamb over Buttered Rice with Bread and Butter and it was delicious !

Well, 9PM and time for my Night Medications and Eye Drops !
