MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

I take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

We have gotten back into singing and playing at the Nursing Homes and other places. It is great to be back at it again !   We are going to a Monthly Bible Study with some of ur friends and enjoying this time together.

We are the Ushers and Greeters again this year for Christmas Eve Services at United Community Church,  This will be I believe 27 years we have Ushered in his arrival.

Hell'o Old Man Winter

Well, Winter is here, Officially it does not start till December 21st but it roared in,   We went to Syracuse Thursday to the airport and picked our son Jonathan who flew in from Portland, Oregon for a Visit and to visit family !
.
We went to Art's Jug in Watertown and surprised his Mother, Nephew and Niece, his sister was missing as she was unable to be there, we had a good time !
.

.

This is my 5th year of taking the family out for Christmas,  I like it as we all can get together and no one has to clean up !

.

.

The above picture was a taken at the Olive Garden in 2014 when we were all together .

While here we got a chance to do a little playing and singing which was a nice evening and we even had some of the residents wander down to listen and we enjoyed ourselves !

We got hammered with SNOW and it is still coming down !!!!

You can tell it's "COLD" because I have to wear a Mask so I can breathe without hurting my lungs !!!

.

HELL'O WINTER

Well we have been lucky so far, Old Man Winter has spared us, right now it is 51, raining and a stiff breeze, but,  The first big lake effect snow storm of the season is likely Wednesday through Friday in Upstate New York as the coldest air of the season moves in from Canada. Buffalo could get a foot of snow, and areas to the south could get double that. Carthage, Watertown and Tug Hill is in the path of up to 20 inches as the wind sweeps in from the west. Wednesday commutes could be slippery and dangerous in both spots, the National Weather Service says.

Outside is green grass, leaves and the Bird Feeders are clear,  Saint Francis under the tree is ready for possible a good storm.

We have to go to Syracuse Thursday and that is in part of this Winter Watch !!

This my Idea of Winter but having been in the Hospital and at the Doctors Office and in Cardiac Rehab for the past 2 months and waiting to see what the Doctor says tomorrow about today's Nuclear Stress Test. 
.

THANKFUL

I am Thankful to have enjoyed another Thanksgiving with my Loving Wife, we both are Thankful for each other !!

I am Thankful for all my Friends out there in Blog Land and Face Book.

I am Thankful that I can remember most things, I cannot remember what I had for lunch yesterday, but I can remember I graduated on June 26 at 4PM and who was all there !

Rest in Peace

It was a sad day today but one that needed to be done.
My Honey and I traveled up to Hopkinton, New York, 2 1/2 hour drive and attended the internment of an Old Friend and former Brother In Law.
.

Tom died in March from Throat and Lung Cancer in the Syracuse Hospital Vetrans Hospital. , a few FUBAR's and SNAFU's caused a delay in his service.   Today his Watch Stands Relieved and he was laid to rest at 10AM on the 25th of October, 2017.

.

The Norwood American Legion arrived in full Turn out gear along with a Bugler.

The Priest conducted the Burial Rites from the Commitment Book.
.

The Flag was presented to my former Sister in Law in Grateful Appreciation for his Service to his Country.  My former nephews Tim and Tom and Jean and ex wife Donna  above with Flag.

Remember our Vets !

 

Well, we sure are getting some nice weather, right now it is 103 in the sun so the thermometer says,  I am currently going 3 days a week, M,W,F to Cardiac Rehab and wear a Heart Monitor as I exercise under the careful eye of my Nurse.  I go from 10am to 11 am and get a pretty good work out.

Fall decorations are out now and the leaves are mostly at Peak !

This my Honey standing with Lyle Bylow, a Korean War Vet who is going to Washington on an Honor Flight to view the Statues and Memorials, they fly out of Syracuse to Washington, spent the day and fly home that night,  this is our 10th Honor Flight.
.

This is our Honor Flight # 10 of Korean and WWII Veterans we sent to Washington.  Their expenses are paid for by our Legion and there guest pays for their own ticket to escort them.  Lady in center is Honor Flight Chairperson for our Northern District.

Set Back

Well, after my last Heart Catherization I thought things were going OK, well, I ended up going over to the ER and the Doctor sent me back to St. Joe's in Syracuse.  I went by Ambulance in a Quick trip, got there and saw my old friend Dr. Caputo, he decided to go back in and check the heart pressures.
I was given more blood thinners, Hepburn and thought maybe they were going to cath me in the morning.   
I settled down and got my heart regulated and was resting when about 5PM in came the team and down I went for my Heart Cath !!
I was in the operating room form about an Hour!!!!
.

Well, I am now home, resting and have to go for Cardiac Rehab 3 days a week starting the 22nd!       Hoping things progress smoothly.     
.
Glad everything in Florida is calmed down and also Texas now if we can get the Fires under control !
.

Getting Back to Normal

Well, Hoping things get back to Normal, what ever normal will be,  this year was the "wettest" spring and summer on record with 29 inches of rain.  This is a picture of the heavy rains flowing out of the rocks on Humphrey Hill !

This has hurt the Apple Trees and also hurt the Corn Crops.    
.

We only have been out camping once and we spent a Month in Florida with My Honeys Mother.
.
I ended up with Heart Issues and Hospital stay and another stent.
.

.
I did get to join the Guys and we played at the Country Manor Nursing home for the residents which was a great time, The Nursing Home was just sold so don't know if the new owners will welcome us back next month ?

.

Fall is not to far off,  Geese are flying over heading SOUTH in large swarms and we saw a lot of them today !!.
.

.
The Leaves on the trees are turning the nice reds, yellow, orange and browns now.

.

We were in Florida at Lake Okeechobee for a Month this July and August, Now there is a Hurricane bearing down on them, IRMA is heading in,  this picture above is of a place on the Lake called Nubbins Slough, I am pointing to a rather large Gator, the water from here is released and goes to Port St. Lucie and the Ocean, when we were there the water was flowing INTO Lake Okeechobee which is not good, Lake Level right now as 13.63 feet and they are trying to lower it !!!

. This is the Lock at Buck Head Ridge where we like to stay. Hopefully this will do all right as this is my fishing spot.

We are Praying for Anna Mae's Family in Florida and everyone else that they all are safe and sound with the upcoming storm !!

Surprise !! Another Stent

Wow have we been busy after getting back from Florida,  We got Anna Mae's Mother back on her feet from Heart Problems and on Monday August 21st I went for my checkup, Doctor said I was doing good and then on Wednesday August 27th I was rushed to our local hospital for chest pain and then transferred to St. Josephs Cardiac Unit in Syracuse, they found a blockage and opened it up and placed another "Stent" to get blood flowing.  Was in Hospital for 4 days now home walking and trying to regain my strength.

The blockage was inside in the LAD, the first picture shows my heart while laying on the Table, I am awake and talking with the Doctor as they repair the blockage and where there was no blood flowing as it should.
.

This second picture shows where the Stent has been placed and shows Blood flowing thru the LAD as it is supposed to.  as of now I have 9 Stents in the Heart and 1 stent in my neck !
.

.
I am feeling better and am truly Blessed I am still going as there have been so many of my friends who have not made it this far!! 
Have not been able to drive, nor play the Guitar or Sing but soon as I am gaining !!!!!
.
Tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 2nd we celebrate our 28th Anniversary, we were married on a Saturday, Sept. 2nd in 1989 .
