BIG SNOW STORM

Well, we have gotten Hammered here,  I know I post a lot about Winter but there is not much else to do but watch it "Storm" !

A foot of fresh snow on the bird feeders, would not hold more snow !

Tim Smity, one of our 2 Maintainence Men snow blows our emergency egress path around the Building,  The Building Codes in New York State require this exit path and also requires all front and rear doors to be cleared of snow or debris at all times!

Above is the Federal Mandated "Smoking Shack" showing the recent Snowfall.  We have 5 Tenants out of 64 that Smoke, can not Smoke inside the building,  I am the "Fire Marshall" and I enforce this Rule,  3 Violations and they get "Evicted" !

This was a nice day of Bass Fishing, we hit a School or something and these were cleaned, wrapped and we had a Great "Fish Fry" !!!!!

Winter Rain

Well, it has warmed up and is almost 40 and RAINING !  Some places are getting freezing rain, roads are bad and it is supposed to get colder !
Hope the weather holds off, I have a Doctors appointment finally with a Pulmonoligist to get these Lungs checked, I have coughed up Blood and have sore ribs. 
I think the problems was a breathing treatment I was using !   But will see.

My Honey's Sister out in Oregon sent her a game called "Qwirkle" and we have been learning to play it to relax in the evening !   This game is also good for my Old Brain as it helps with some issues I have after my stroke !

And, She has beat me all 3 times we have played !!!!!!!!!!!

.

Well, gonna be an early morning so it's almost bed time here, listening to the Rain is nice!!!!!!

Winter Sports

Well, Winter is here, SO, I am getting right into thee Winter Sports !     With the few days we get sunshine I go all out for "Sun Basking",, it is a sport where I get in my recliner,  lean back and 'Bask" in the sun from 2PM until just about 3:30 PM,  it is fun, quiet, warm and relaxing !

As you can see I do this Basking Task rather well !!!

.

.

I also engage in "Bird Watching" as well and sometimes the Snow get too much on the feeders outside the window.   I really hate to have to walk outside in the snow ad cold to clear them off SO:

.

.

I open the Window, push my Broom Handle with a 4 foot attached Garden Stake attached and knock the Snow off the feeders from "Inside " the apartment.

.

.

But when all else fails, My Darling Honey goes out and will clean them off and she actually likes to Shovel some snow, not a lot, just around the feeder !

.

As Winter starts Stay Warm, active and Don't forget our Veterans !

Today is a "Special Day",  Today is Jack Darnells, (Shipslog) Blog Birthday, he claims to be 80 years old,  Does not look it !!

Here is Aiden Andrew Naklick, 4 months with his Great Grandfather and Grandmother !

He is sure is Handsome, and just starting to grow !!

COLD STILL

Well, it is still COLD, - 12 below zero,  sitting here in my chair with a wool shirt on, cold comes right thru the windows, poor insulation on them, poor quality workmanship !

WARNING, WINTER !!!

I don't know how we survived the winters growing up, we just woke up, looked out the window and knew what the weather was, we did not have a Television growing up until I was 12 years old, we listened to the Radio and they were few Weather Alerts like they are today !!  Gramp Wood could tell when it was going to rain he said by the "Pain in his Knee" !    Usually he was right !!

This is our local weather girl, Beth Hall, she comes on in the morning about 5;30AM or Zero-Dark-Thirty and tells us what the day is going to be.

.

Then we get the 7 day forecast, this was on this morning and you can see it is going to get cold  just like it has for the past 70+ years I have been around !!!

This was me, dressed in Long Under ware, gloves, and a face mask as it is hard to breathe in these very cold temps.

.

Hopefully we only have about 70 days till spring.

A NEW BLANK PAGE

Well, it is 2019,  a New Year,  SO, New Years Eve resolutions??????    I made two, (2) !!!  I have vowed to "Be A Better Christian" !!!
.

We live in a 50 unit Senior Citizen, HUD owned Housing Development, there are 3 sets of buildings, 

This was built in 1984, it has aging problems and to live  here you have to be 62 years old or Disabled. We were forced here due to my Heart issues and my Stroke,  Living in a building with 64 people does pose Problems.  I am trying to be more friendly, less of a complainer, and smile more .

.

We have people here who are terrible "Back Stabbers", Nice to your face and stab you in the back,  people who are "Jealous" of us, maybe because we are so active and they are not.  We attend Church weekly, I entertain not only at Nursing Homes, Hospitals but also last night we played here again.

.

My second "Resolution" is to Play and Sing more, as I have gotten older I now have a problem being able to sing very long.

.

.

This is my friend and Retired Music Teacher,  we are "Howard and Andy", we played together at a Christian Community Center Church several Times.

.

.

Above is Karl and Mark and I, This group is "Musical Ministry Messengers" and we play weekly !

This group is "The Friends of God" !  We play weekly also !

.

This is in Okeechobee, Florida, I am playing with "Freddy Veitch" who does back up Steele Guitar for  Nashville recording Artists and has played on the Grand Old Opera !

.

This is Patti Lamieux, I play duo's with her at Schools and Nursing Homes, she has a Beautiful Voice, plays much better than I do on Guitar and I love singing with her !

.

.

The above group is the "Old Church Group", everyone in this group goes to a different Church, we do mostly private Nursing Homes !

.

.

This was a few years ago,  I was standing around singing along with these group of men while we were in Nashville and one of them asked me if I could play a Guitar, I said yes, He handed me his guitar, said he was going to go to the Bathroom and walked away and I finished out the song and then did several more !  

.

.

My most precious time is when I get the few times to Play along with my Son, Jonathan, he is a skilled Guitar Player, has a Band in Oregon, has a recording Studio, and works in Computer Software.  Love seeing him, he was home 2 years ago !
