Rain, Duck Feet

We sure have had Rain,  we got just over an Inch of rain, couple days later we got 3/4 of an inch and today we so far have had just over a 1/2 i9nch of rain !

So it was a great day for my daily afternoon nap I like my "Naps",  after I had my last "Spell"  Doctor said it would be a good Idea if I rested every afternoon and give my Brain a chance to "reboot"  so I follow Doctors Orders !!

My Honeys Brother, Sister and her at a wake for My Honeys Uncle David who just passed away at the Veterans Center.

We just celebrated Uncle David's 80th Birthday at beginning of the year and lost him half way thru the year, (Sad) !

.

Yesterday we went and got our Booster shots !  Nothing to it, No Pain or side effects but extra protection !

Still around

Well, Summer is here,  Grass Mowing is now a weekly chore that I do not mind.  Nor do I mind the bi-weekly weed eating and edging ! Lawn looks good,  Just spent the  last 3 hours mowing and checking plants and garden we started !  We had an enjoyable Memorial Day Honoring our Dearly Departed !

Our Memorial Day Speaker from Fort Drum,  He will shortly be transferred to Washington, Ft. Drum is a stepping stone for some !

We were Blessed to finally meet my Great Neice Tommie and Great Great Neice Brently Harden and Jason.  They live full time in their Mobile Home and both work on their Computers at home for 2 different companies and Brently is Home Schooled,  They Travel from Colorado to Florida, Florida to Ohio, then they came up here to meet us on their was to the Ocean and Maine !   They have lived "On The Road" for over 10 years.  Bet they could take some lessons and Tips from Jack and Sherry over at Shipslog Blog;  Shipslog (shipslog-jack.blogspot.com)

Garden is almost all planted, we have staggered the Lebanese Squash, *(Koosa) farther apart and a cut back on the Cherry Tomatoes we planted !

All left out front is to Plant the Moss Rose and Impatients  and sit back and watch it grow !

 Did some charcoal Grilling instead of Gas Grilling and had Perfect Filet Mignon for Two and had Tabouli Salad !   .

It was Delicious !

The Best News to blog is My Honey is "Cancer Free" after Treatments !

Trash or Treasure

Sometimes 2 times a year the Village of Deferiet comes thru with the Town of Wilna and collects and picks up with Dump Trucks and Front End Loaders items that are no longer wanted, needed or are no good. 

.

.

 We are ready for tomorrow and the pickup  !

.

.

Here is our Pile of Treasure to be picked up,  We pay the Village $10.00 (Ten) dollars for picking up our stuff,  if we had a lot we would pay $25.00 !   (Cheap)   !  It will be interesting as people are now starting to drive by looking at the items piled by the Street,  It is 74 degrees and sunny !!

Across the street is their Pile, they are lucky as at the end of June they are moving to West Virginia to live near their daughter.  They are both retired, HE is ex- Military,  they now both drive School Bus Part Time here at $17.00 an hour till end of School June 25th.!

This is down the street and last night scavengers/(Treasure Hunters)  came thru and picked thru a lot of stuff or the 2 piles on both sides of the street would be larger.,  The old saying my Dad would say is, "One Man's Junk Is Another Mans Treasure" !

Right now we are pretty quiet, mainly watching the Birds,  Today we went and My Honey cleared the old flowers and planted fresh one at the Graves of her Father and 2 uncles.

AHHHhhhhhhhh it's Warmer!!

Well,  we got some warmer temps today after Coffee and Toast and outside we went !!

MY Honey Planting flower Christmas Card in the area by the Shasta Daisey and the Holly Hocks and under the straw is Oregon Glads !

This the date she put the card in water and waited for it to Germinate and it did so it was planted today !

I am planting Lebanese Squash, (Koosa) and will stagger the Plantings about 2 weeks apart so it does not come into fruit all at the same time !

She is Planting Beans, Radishes and Lettuce so it is staggered in Maturing ! Good Gardener !

Checking the Rhubarb and it is coming up slowly but will eventually get large enough for a Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie !!!!

Out came the "Gravity Chairs" for around the Fire Pit !

The "Black Flies" were thick and Biting and they drew Blood on my Poor Honeys Neck !

. She says she feels Good, little sore throat from being put under for stomach surgery to remove Polyps and take samples from areas to send in to make sure there is no more Cancer.

BRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr, Cold

Well, we have had our range of Temps and kind of weird,  We were up in the 80's, running around in Shorts and T Shirts and Mowing and  weed eating,  Had the Garden Tilled and have seeds started down in the basement.

.

We have had our second day of Cold weather, the Temperature is 52 now and it is damp,  we had 2 days of rain and a cold front blew in, power outages and some flooding,  we got almost 2 inches of rain in 2 days !

.

The Raid did make the Radish's sprout up, also Simpson Black Seed Lettuce and the Onions are sprouting up out of the ground,   Hoping we do not get a Frost tonight that they just called for,  52 is not that far from 32 degrees !

.

Had my Honey in to the Hospital at 6:45AM this Morning for her Surgery to recheck her Stomach and hopefully there is no Cancer Cells !     She is tired today and still resting, we left the hospital about 11AM !  One surprize for us was our Granddaughter came in while MY Honey was waiting to go in for Surgery and said Hell'o,  she is an Operating Nurse and was working that Morning !!

Right now humped up in the House staying warm,  Don't want to go any where as Gas Now is $4.79 a Gallon !!!     WoW !!!!!!    It will be $5.00 a gallon by Memorial Day !

Be a good sleeping nite for both of us !   My Honey is tired from todays surgery and I have a sinus infection !!!!

Rain/Sunshine/Rain

Well we have gotten some rain, then some sun, then some rain right now,  but it is getting warmer !  Got the Riding Mower Back this afternoon all spiffed Up for the Mowing Season.

Got the Grape Jelly Cup on a Painters Stir Stick duct taped up,  got the Orange thickly sliced and hanging in the Suet Feeder, Humming Bird feeders hung and now just waiting for the arrival of the Humming Birds and Baltimore Orioles !!

Sitting inside in-between the Rain I looked and saw an "Osprey" fly over going from west to east and it had a Fish in its Talons,   The picture above it from the Internet and this is almost what it looked like !  We see it often as they had a nest not too far from our street.

Having some TV Issues had to call Spectrum and have them come and get the System back on line !  Nice young man hooked us up !

.

Now to settle in and go down in the Basement and work on a couple projects I need to get done for outside !!
