WINTERS HERE !!!

.

I thought we were going to get some warm weather but guess I was wrong, it has rained, gotten colder and this morning it snowed again,  this is another snow storm so this makes 2 since we have been home.
.

Hopefully it is going to warm up, we did have the good fortune to see a nice red cardinal at the feeder, and we also got to watch a red tailed hawk come swooping in and snatching up one of the sparrows feeding.
.

Well, this month is almost over and it has been so far a dry cold one to start but the end of thew month has been cold and wet with lots of rain.
.
We were lucky and missed a lot of this storm.

Back in the Saddle

Well, we are trying to get back into the swing of things, in between running to Doctors and specialists tonight I grabbed the guitar and went to meet Karl and Roger from the "Friends of God" and we played at the Carthage Country Manor Nursing Home for the residents.
.

.
We got right into some toe tappers and foot stomping tunes for the residents..
.
.
Karl, Travis, Craig Singing "In The Garden", Roger and me playing.
.
.
We did one from Randy Travis,  we sang "Three Wooden Crosses"....
.
Karl and Travis providing music for Anna who came up and sang to the residents.
.
Travis and Roger while we played "Long Black Train"....
.

.
Anna came back up and joined us again to sing...
.

.
We finished playing and the Lady from "Activities" came up and gave us a Certificate of Appreciation for playing every other tuesday night at the Nursing Home,  Travis in the Red Shirt is usually there with his father Mark who is always there but Military Duty kept him away tonight, on the other tuesday nights Mark, his son Travis above in the Red Shirt and anyone that wants to join in also play at the Skilled Nursing Unit.
.
We had a good time, I got to see 2 of my Cousins who are residents and also several people who used to live here at West Side Terrace who had to go to a Nursing Home.

COLD DISMAL DAYS

Well, we are home patiently waiting for some warmer weather, it is raining, cloudy, dismal looking and then suddenly the SUN peeks thru the clouds and shines a little then drops back behind the clouds...
.
Trout season started April 1st but it was SNOWING too hard to go fishing...
.
We have not even gotten a chance to go Bullhead fishing either....
.
but, summer temps cannot be that far away....

Snow geese, Euchre, Pizza and Fun

We went for a ride and on the way to Watertown we spotted a rather large flock of Snow Geese, most I have ever seen in a flock, we figured about 200 snow geese here,
.
.
We went around and coming in from Lowville saw another flock, we think there were several hundred in this gaggle....
.
In with the white Snow Geese were also the Canadian Geese, there were hundreds and hundreds of them.

.

.
we thought this was snow and once again we saw hundreds and hundreds of White Snow Geese again in another meadow...
.

. we were coming in from Croghan and this time saw a meadow covered with these snow geese... I am 65 years old and I cannot ever remember flocks of this size coming in, and they are still around here even after our 3 inch snow storm.
.
.
Well, we are settled in waiting for spring, today we went to the Grau's for an afternoon of Euchre, Eddies Bologna, chips, dip, cheese and some beer,  we played Euchre, Penny and I and Marty and Anna Mae,  Great afternoon.
.
.
Penny and I won 5 games and they won 4 games, a good time was had, lots of laughs, conversation and no world problems got solved.
.
We had some Pizza Dough from Marty and Penny's daughter sent to them from Ohio and we had to try, it made a good pizza and we enjoyed it.
.
It was a good day.

Home again

Well, we made it home, we left Myrtle Beach and drove up to Chambersburg Pa. Weather was nice, cool but sunny, we stayed at the Comfort Inn where we usually stay,  Pool, Hot Tub, great breakfast.   We went to bed and slept great.
.
Next morning we woke up to a "Snow Storm",  we had coffee, quick breakfast and hit the road trying to get ahead of the storm.
.
.
The roads were wet in places and in other places they were SNOW covered.
.

.
We saw several Semi's off the Road and cars off the road and several accidents.
.
.
Thankfully, we made it home safe and sound, we thank our Guardian Angel for riding with us,  we unpacked the truck, went grocery shopping, and we have settled back in,  we have not done much but watch it snow, then rain, then get windy, we have about 2 inches of snow, it was 1 below zero this morning and cold.
.
Today here at the "Ole Folks Home" we are having our spring Venision Stew Feed in the community room,  looking forward to this.
.
On a sad note, Aunt Ruth as we call her is moved into a Nursing Home, 4 others have moved also, but, we have some new residents to meet and get to know,  hopefully spring cannot be that far away,  we have seen several large flocks of Canadian Geese flying north, the river here is loaded with them and Maple Sugaring Season is underway, all signs of spring.
.
On another note, there was no snow this winter, very unusual, we noticed all the little brooks and streams did not have much water in them, usually they are full and roaring, not quiet and calm.
.
Hope everyone is doing OK,

Moving Northward to Myrtle Beach

Well, we left Okeechobee Florida, headed north and in 11 hours we pulled into Myrtle Beach, we didn't push it and took our time,  there is a big change in the Temps between here and Florida but it will be even cooler when we get to New York so this will work out OK,

We did notice a lot of traffic headed down for the Daytona 500.

It was a nice day to be on the Beach.

We are staying in the Older part of Myrtle Beach on South Ocean Blvd. at the Sea Horn, we have stayed here quite a few times and like it, the pool is inside and set at 80 degrees.

We enjoyed ourselves at the Myrtle Beach State Park and got some sun and sand.

My Sandals are a size 12 and this guy could hurt you if stepped on !

We enjoyed a nice cook-out at the Beach.

The food, weather and company was great!

Attacked by a Bear at Sons of Guns at "Broadway at the Beach" !!

One good thing about the Bear Attack was I skinned him and made me a nice wig !!!!

MOVING ON !

Well, its time to move on, We have been here in Florida since November, back home in New York so far they have had NO SNOW of record.  There is hardly any Ice, many Ice Fishing Derbies were cancelled.

We are headed out for Myrtle Beach, the weather will play out on when we head for New York and hopefully no snow.

I had to get in one last day of fishing and did pretty good sitting out back on the deck.

Monday February 20th is my 65th Birthday and we are heading tuesday Morning for Myrtle Beach, I am gonna go up and find some treasure.

This picture below is my 60 th Birthday I celebrated 5 years ago down in Margaritiville in Key West.
