New Family Member

Well, I can now claim the Title of GREAT GRANDFATHER,  welcome Aiden Andrew Naklick, 8 pounds, 15 Oz, lots of hair, chubby cheeks and very Handsome like his Great grandfather !

It was a Blessing to have the whole Family Gathered just before the next addition to the family,Above is Katlyn with Grandson Brent, My ex-wife Donna, MY Honey Anna Mae, Me and our Granddaughter with Aiden waiting to be born,  in rear is Son in Law Ed, daughter Sabrina and Son Jonathan and new Grandson Aaron Naklick.  We had dinner at Art's Jug which is an old "Watering Hole" in Watertown !

This is our Grandson Brent and his Girl, Brent is 6 ft 6 in and slimmed down to 200 pounds, he works on a Large Farm along with 10 to 12 other school kids, they are paid $8.00 an hour CASH at the end of their work day, Katlyn is going to be a Vet in Animal Husbantry.

This is Brent with Donna his other Grandmother and his mother Sabrina, He is a "Big-Un" with a Heart of Gold !

Happy to have Dinner with my Son Jonathan, have not seen him in over a year,  He lives in Portland Oregon !!!  He came home for the arrival of his Great Nephew Aiden !

Happy Anniversary

Well, we celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary today, we went out to dinner with my Honeys Brother and Sister in Law and Nephew.  We went to the Appallo Greek Restaurant for Greek food !

Outdoor Grilling

I love cooking outside, it seems that the food always tastes better cooked outside, I really like cooking on either wood or Charcoal but we have Gas Grills here so that is what I have to use.

Last night I cooked Shish-ka-Bobs, fresh tomatoes, onions and some mushrooms with lean cut bottom round steak,  they were delicious !

.

.

and there were NO LEFTOVERS !!!!!!!

.

.

Cooking 2 nice Steaks for me and my Honey !

. Fresh Sweet Corn, Onions, Mushrooms, 80-20 Hamburger all wrapped in foil cooking on an open fire !!!!!!!!!

We are " NOT " enjoying our Camper Free life style but we do not hesitate in our Travels to stop and look if we see a camper "For Sale" parked by the road.  Who Knows what we will buy next time !    I think we have had 6 or 8 Campers plus also a Van or 2 !

.

Time will Tell,  Hope Everyone has a great Labor Day weekend. we have not made any Plans as September 2nd is our 29th Wedding Anniversary !

Music !

I have always it seems had a Guitar, I can remember the first one I got, it was a Kay, Arch Top F Hole,  it looked something like this one ! I am about 14 years old ! 
.

.

My next guitar was a Silvertone Electric Guitar,  I worked on a farm and saved up the whopping sum of $75.00 and got it from Mail Order at Spiegel, May- Sterns Catalog.

.

.I played in High school with a couple guys, we played mostly Country Music.

.

.

I was also pretty good on the Banjo and played it for years and I can still play chords and back up !  Above picture is when I came home and dug it out of the closet at Mom and Dads !

.

.

I was back then lucky as I came across a Guy hard up for some cash who wanted extra cash for "Liberty" and I bought this handsom electric Guitar for pennies on the dollar,  I learned I didn't care for Electric Guitars, Amplifiers and Microphones but would rather play acoustic.

.

.

.

.

I also picked up the Dobro Resonator Guitar !!!!!!  I love the "Twang" !!!!!

.

.

After the Navy I kept Plying, while in the Navy I was always lucky enough that the COB liked Country Music and was allowed to play about the Ship when not busy !

My son was home from Portland Oregon last year and was lucky enough to get him to play a few tunes with the Old Man !!!  He is a fantastic player, far better than his Dad !!!!!!

.

I now have 2 Mandolins and am having fun with them !

.

Time to Take my Meds and relax,   Don't forget, Remember our Vets !

Music can charm !

I am back playing in the Nursing Homes and Assisted Living and Hospitals and senior citizen housing places.  I enjoy the music, laughter and smiles.

We are fortunate that most of our music we play is what a lot of the people we visit and sing to know a lot of these Old Hymns, Praise Songs, Country Songs and sing along songs !

Bigger Family

Well, it looks like My Honey and I are going to be Great Grandparents,  my daughter Sabrina had 2 children, a daughter, Shannon and later a son Brent.
Shannon married a nice young man and now in September Shannon is going to have a Baby Boy !!!!
She is going to be a Great Mother, and I am going to be a Great Grandfather !

They have picked out the name, he will be Named Aiden Naklick !   I am happy !

Garden Harvest Soup

Well, we picked fresh beans, got potatoes, onion some ham, bacon, we got some Heavy Crème and whole milk,  I made an old fashioned Bean and Potatoe Soup.
.

.

The plants this year were over 4 feet high, there is loads of Tomatoes, the sweet little cherry and lots of them !

.

.

They are coming along nicely and we will share them with neighbors !

.

.

.

.

This is the bean and onion patch which did very nicely this year I think because we had so much hot weather !

.

.

The beans were very tasty in the soup !

.

.

The Peppers are about 2 inches now, I can't eat them but have neighbors that eat them lke an apple so they can have all they want !

.

.

The "Early Girl" Tomatoes are coming along,  hope they do not get the "Blight" they got last year !!

.

.

Garden has done good with fresh salads and lots of lettuce for sandwichs !

The Bean & Potatoe Soup was delicious.

.
