Stormy Weather

Well, it is Rain and some heavy rain and wind !!!!     We have not done much but go to the Doctors, X-Rays- Blood Tests, Iron Level Tests,  we now have to go have a "Hide A Scan" on the Gall Bladder and then have a specialist look at my right and left rotator cuff tears !.

I have severe pain in my back between my shoulder blades, I was at the Doctors Friday, then Monday and then in the Hospital ER Monday Night, then back to Doctor Tuesday, now 2 doctors appointments Friday *(Tomorrow).  I think it is My Gall Bladder and not Rotator Cuff Tears,  I have had a rotator cuff problem for years, probably from being knocked down so much when I was a Policeman!  lol !  I hope we can find out soon !

We went to the Cemetery and Anna cleaned, weeded and scrubbed the Stones and planted flowers for Memorial Day at her family plot !

.

As we close in on "Memorial Day" let us not forget those who "Gave their All" !

Cold Again !

Well, we had a nice 70+ degree day, shorts and t shirts and enjoyed the out doors,  today is windy, 47 degrees and ya need long pants and a Jacket for outside !
.
At 2PM it is cloudy, we have had a lot of winds and on the East End of Lake Ontario they have gotten some wind driven "Flooding" of their properties and buildings on the shores of the Lake !    They have brought in thousands of sand bags to help but does not help much,    If the wind drives it in to the shore line it goes back out !!!!!

.Bird Feeders are Busy,  Gross Beaks, Orioles, Cardinals, Nut Hatches, Woodpeckers, Sparrows, Chick a Dees, Blu Jays and now and then a "Hawk" to thin out the Pigeons or Morning Doves.
.
We did have a long nite,  at 10:30PM Anna Mae took me over to the Emergency Room at the Hospital, Chest Pain, Back Pain and we were there till 5AM but I am home, adjusting the Heart Medications and resting !!

Wow, came across this picture that my brother in law sent up from Florida, this was when I first retired from The Police Dept. and we moved to a nice small Mobile Home on the Peace River outside Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda !!  I had hair !!!!

Test Flights

Well, I am being challenged by this Christmas Present,  I am trying to fly a "Drone",  An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, as an unmanned aircraft system (UAS), and also referred by several other names, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard.
.
We live minutes from Ft. Drum, a large Military Base and they have many, many Drones over there which we will see now and then,  I can fly my Drone up to 400 feet as long as it does not weigh over 5 pounds.

Above is one of the smaller drones that they fly on Military Bases,   They also have Drrones that are able to fly for Miles and Miles !!!

The above is where I almost "LOST" my drone, the wind was slight when I took off, as I gained elevation and got above the trees the wind shifted and blew me off track, Had some luck as I got it back over me and throttled it down to within walking distance to go get it !

We took a ride up to the Park for a walk, today we actually had temps that were 75 degrees !!!  It was a "Heat Wave" and we enjoyed it!

Sitting around now watching the "Sunset" !  Doctors check up tomorrow !

Well it is coming upon Memorial Day, Least we forget !

SUNSHINE an Warm

It has quit raining, AND we are actually getting some "Sunshine" !  It has been raining off and on and cold it seems for mid may.  well, today is warm so outside !

I used to "Fly High" with McGraw in this little Single Piston Engine Cessna, we would fly to Police Union meetings, I was District Rep for 8 Northern New York Counties,  and went to our Capitol once a Month as President of our PBA Union !  I could take off and land this baby like "Slick Willie" !

.

I got a Drone for Christmas, I figured it would be a simple take off, land, adjust the trim and have fun !

.

.

Lift off was OK,  Trim adjusted and speed Level 2, Indicator was a 4 Knot wind from the west, so up we went.  only to get to tree top level and hit a stronger wind and turmoil !

.

.

I was headed North but winds changed direction to east towards housing,  I tried to lower altitude and correct to a North heading towards the Buildings !

.

.

Corrected with lower height and proceeded to gain altitude !  Thought it would be a "Piece of Cake" to fly one of these little jobbers but I guess not !!!!

.

.

Got back up to about 30 feet and hit winds again !!!  YUP you tell !!!!

OUR HOUSE

Some have asked how we like living in senior Citizen housing and what it is like !    Well, We moved here 11 years ago !  This is the nicest ones we found and there was a Vacancy, we moved in right after I was Healthy enough to move.  Due to Heart Problems, a Stroke and COPD we moved into Senior Citizen Housing, we moved into West Side Terrace which is a HUD based Section 8 Housing , West Side is OK, Just boring,  and full of "Old People" like ME !!!!!

Just past the short hallway is our Pantry and storage area beside my Music Area .

Inside the Pantry is where I play Music, sing and keep guitars, mandolins, music, books, amplifiers and microphones which is nice as there are only 2 apartments that have this additional room because we are on the end of a hallway!

This is the small kitchen which is suitable for one, we don't fight for it as we share the cooking !

Kitchen has a pass through which looks into the Dining area and living room and the front window.

This is our Castle,  we find we are spending more and more time inside now that we have sold the Campers,  The big day for us is Sunday and Church, and Tuesday when I travel out to entertain .

The B-B-Q grill is an awesome way to get outside here !!

Coming soon, Our Garden if it will warm up and quit raining !   We have had lots of rain !

Birds Here

Well, we watch the Bird feeders a lot and try to track the "Spring Arrivals" !  The Birds are coming home again,  The first to return we saw was the Baltimore Oriole !
.

.

We were surprised to see the Oriole as they are scarce up here, only rarely have we had one come to the feeder but this year we have 2 of them flitting in and out.  

.

.

Camera is wearing out but they are a beautiful bird, They love freshly sliced oranges placed in the suet feeder!

.

.

I had to go find a picture of the Humming Birds that came back this week, The flitted in and are about 2 weeks early as usually we see them at the feeders about the middle of May !

.

The Cardinals are still here !

The Downy Woodpecker is looking for some suet !  

.

.

The Gold Finches are still here but now the males are turning a nice dark yellow !

.

Hopefully when the Barn Swallows return we know it is almost summer,  Today we wore shorts and no jackets but that will change tonight as cold and rain set in !.

MAY DAY, Gotta Ditch !!

We finally got up to 71 degrees today, actually felt warm !!!  Went to Lowville and Played and sang for Trinity Episcopal Church and then home.
Took the 'Drone" out and fired it up,   Had some fun but at about 20 feet we it was, "May Day, May Day, Gonna Ditch" !         Not much damage !  I posted some video !

I made several flights and am learning to adjust to having several controls to handle and navigate.

Late Christmas

Well, I opened up one of my Christmas Presents and got it set up, charged and going !!!    I got a "DRONE" from Santa Claus.

I got an HS200 Holy Stone Drone with 720Pixel Camera and also Video.  The Drone is just under the requirement of weight restrictions under Section 15 of FCC Rules.
