Winter maybe

Well, its the last day of December, we are saying goodbye to the year 2021, It can be said that it was a year of ups and downs.  But "Time and Tide Wait For No Man" so we march on ready to say goodbye and "Hello" to 2022 !

This coming year I welcome my 75th Journey around the Sun !  I am Blessed to be here and also "Thankful" and all I can say is "God Is Good" !

. 

My Birthday is February 20th or 220.  This should be an interesting year of 2022 !.

 As this shows December is going out quietly, We had rain today and the Temp was almost 40 degrees !

.

.

The back yard has lots of Grass showing and the Rabbits are enjoying it this year but I feel it is going to change soon !

.

.

The Old Back aches, It is sore and I spend as much time as I can laying down,  It's good there is not more damage than there is !   It is gonna just take time to heal up !

.

Christmas ups and downs

I enjoyed putting up the Shelf in the Laundry Room for a couple plants but they were too close together SO:  I put up another Shelf:

The left window with a shelf so worked on putting up another one !

Shelf is up,  The plants now have room to grow !  The shade can still be put up an down and window will still open !

.

.

The Amarylis grew and grew and finally had all 4 Blossomed for Christmas and is Beautiful and very tall !

.

Well Christmas arrived and we enjoyed a nice quiet Saturday Morning opening up and exchanging gifts.  We got up early and set out a nice Prime Rib t cook to tank to My Honeys Mothers !    we let it sit out to get to room temp, meanwhile  we enjoyed coffee and relaxing !

1 nice gift came from My Son Jonathan in Oregon, it is an Earnie Ball Tool Kit for working on Musical Instruments which I needed !

.

. 

My Honey got me new Slippers, the right one is over 25 years old and pretty well worn,  these are Deer Hide and wool libed and very warm !

.

. 

My Honey with a beautiful Otter which is just perfect for her Otter Collection !

.

We cooked the Prime Rib after rubbing it down with pepper, garlic and Onion Powder,  put it in oven at  500 degrees for 1 hour then shut off oven and let it sit.  We packed it up at noon and went to My Honeys Mothers  with the Prime Rib and there we had a nice 1PM Lunch with her Mother and 2 Uncles.  Great Meal.

Home and rested up and up Sunday Morning headed out for Church at 9AM !  I followed my Honey and when I got to the top step I hit an Icy Patch and down I went !

.

.  

Yup I hit all 5 stairs and the concrete on my butt, back and shoulder.

.

.

With Bone Bruises on my Tail Bone, middle of my back and neck I am finally out of bed and able to sit on a pillow with an ice pack and then Heating Pad for awhile, Only some minor cuts and scratches, I do have some powerful Pain Meds but am only taking Tylenol for now!  Iam Truly "Blessed" it was not far worse than it was !

Putter day with Plants

Well we were up early and My Honey went to Church and met the Ladies to get set for Christmas Eve Service and Iwent to the Legion to do Paperwork, finished up and home.  I had a plant, *(funeral arrangement) from my Great Nephew I have kept going and I took it apart and replanted each of the combo plants seperately.  I had them down in a cellar window after repotting them.

4 of the Plants in the Cellar window and they didn't do well as they faced the west side with limited sun !

Above room is the laundry Room and this window faces East and West sunshine and My Honeys African Violets do well in there  SO:.

I had my Honeys Help and I put up a Window Shelf and transferred the Plants up stairs to see if the will hopefully do better !  The tall Plant is the Wife's Amarylis Plant which is gonna be all Blossoms out for Christmas it looks !

The 5 African Violets are doing Great in the Laundry Room with a East West window !

.

Now we wait to see if the Plants do well !

These were my 4 Beautiful Jades I grew, they were very old.   Something got to them and they all developed wet rot and I sadly watched them slowly die !

.

I did manage to get some leaves off a small Healthy stem and placed it in some sand in a cool dark area !

.

.

Out of my 4 large Jades I have managed to start these 2 plants in Sand in Jelly Jars !!!   Hope they make it as I have them in a Easterly Window !

.

Christmas is Coming, Our Service is at 5PM Friday Night and we have the Honor of Ushering which we have done in our Church for about 25 Years under different Pastors !

Winter Comes and Goes

Well, Winter is back, it comes and goes now, not like when I was a kid it seems,  I remember in December there was Snow when December came, I can remember in November hunting Season was either cool an cold for good hunting or Warm and Lusy Hunting and then December came and Hunting got really good !!

.

.

Hunting Season Starts in November, It's nice that I live not far from the Woods and Village Limits and near hundreds of acres of Military Land !

.

.

Meat for the Freezer !

.

. 

On the way to get cut up and Packaged,  this little doe was just right !  The Wife's Cousin is a Great butcher for doing Venison !

.

.

Cut up, Wrapped and Marked for the Freezer for winter which will help the Cost of Meat going up and up $$$$$$$  along with everything else !!!  The Green Tag I am Holding is my Doe Permit to take deer from an overpopulated area !

.

.

This picture looking across the Street was taken about 10 Am as it started to Snow here in Deferiet !

This was about 5 hours later, we got just under 6 inches of Snow and it got colder !

Christmas Tree up, Decorated, some Presents under the Tree .

Dinner tonight was Breakfast,    Slab Bacon, Eggs cooked in Bacon Grease, Buttered Grits, Toast with Blackberry Jam and P Nut Butter and Cranberry Juice !!

We have lost Power twice and so Thankful we have this little Gem sitting outside,    This will run the entire house !!!!

.

.

Bird feeders are cleaned out, filled and we were blessed with a Pair of Cardinals, They usually come into the feeders just before a storm an first thing in the morning and last thing at night to feed.

.

.

We are both getting ready for a "New Year" soon !!!

Weather

 Used to be growing up you could predict the weather, either by a ache in a knee joint or a painful shoulder, maybe joints in the hand would tell "Old Timers" of approaching Storm.   We have had, Snow, Rain, Wind, Warm Weather, more Snow then warmed up !!

I made some more Christmas Cookies, My favorite Cookie !!

I made a couple dozen cookies and gave some to a couple of my Neighbors here in Deferiet !  I sent a few up to Church in Carthage to our Minister !
