Outside Work

 Usually this work is done earlier but weather and Health kinda slowed us down but "Getting er done" !

The Daffodils have finally came up and sprouted their pretty yellow heads! !

.

.

 Our first walk in the woods and there is a lot of "Blow Down"   !

.

. 

We have about a half dozen nice pines that have lost their tops or large branch's and these are just sitting there and are "Dangerous",  there called "Deadfalls" as they could fall on you without warning !

.

My Honey cleaning out the HollyHocks and her Shasta Daisey !

I am trimming up my Dad's Tea Rose Bush's and they seem to have wintered well !

.

.

The Rose Bush on the Left side is a new off shoot of the one beside it where I buried a branch and moved a root over and now have a 3rd Tea Rose Bush ! 

.

My *(PINK) Blossom 4th Rose Bush is doing OK, it wintered will and has some nice red new growth on it !

.

Today is "Earth Day" and we worked in the Dirt but we had to quit about noon due to the Heavy Winds and blowing Dust !

.

Bird Feeders filled and didn't take long for Cardinals to return as they were here all winter and the Gold Finch's have came back and are Hungry !

Heat Wave and Brittle Bones

Well we are enjoying an 81 degree day,  It is sunny and Hot out,  First day in a pair of shorts !

.

.

I was sitting down in recliner watching TV,  About 10:15PM I stood up and stepped forward and fell forward catching myself.  My leg was asleep.   Thinking nothing of it I went to bed. 

.

 Next Morning my leg and hip hurt !    It gradually got worst,  I started putting Ice packs on it and 2 weeks later I ended going to the Doctor, had X-Rays taken and now I have to go to an Orthopedic Doctor !

"Homecoming" !!

I read with interest the Post on Homecoming on my Blogger Buddy, Shipmate Jack's site on his Blog at the SHIPSLOG at  Shipslog (shipslog-jack.blogspot.com).

Our Family had a Home coming for many Years when my Father and Mother were alive and some years after  they Passed away !

.

.

This picture has printed on the Back the South Edwards Sunday School of which my Grandfather and Great Uncle would be in !

.

"HE IS RISEN" !

Saturday we got up and had Breakfast, went to Church and had a "Pie Sale",  we sold 26 donated Pies as a Fund Raiser for Church and I came home with a Freshly Baked "Pecan" or "Peacun" Pie !  It is delicious and I guess I will be sharing with the Neighbors as I can't eat the whole thing:  "Or Can I" ?

This is one of the few years there were no Grandbabies around to help decorate Easter Eggs so we boiled up some eggs, cooled them and we sat and decorated a few for each other.

.

.

We have had these cups, metal Egg Holders and wax crayons for years as we used them with Grandbabies !

.

. 

The Eggs done and out for decoration, Then it will be Egg Salad Sandwich's and egg slices on crackers for a snack next week !.

.

We went to Church Friday and cleaned for Easter and then we filled and hid " Plastic easter Eggs" with candy in them all around the Church !

.

.

These are the Kids who swept thru the Church, laughing, shouting, "I Found One" and just making Merry ! It was enjoyable to see them enjoying themselves !

.

.

The Kids an Parents, Grandparents and friends gathered and some of the Ladies of the Church after the Easter Egg Hunt !

.

 "He Is Risen" was the cry this morning in our House at Daybreak as we were both awake at about Dawn.  We were up and enjoyed a Prayer, then Coffee and then we went to Church for "Easter" Services, My Honey was co-leader of Services as we are still waiting to find a Pastor.

.

Following Services we met up with My Honeys Brother and his wife and son and we went out for a Buffett Lunch . 

It was a Great Way to Celebrate Easter with the Lord and Family !

April Showersa

Well, we are supposed to get some torrential down pours of Rain tomorrow, *(Wednesday) and just maybe it will get rid of all these large ice hard snow piles and help wash away winters accumulation of dirt !

.

.

Winter must be soon over, This little guy came up to me in the Garage and sat down at my feet while I was filling bird feeders in the garage.  Last year I was hand feeding 2 or 3 Chipmunks and this must be one of the ones I fed.  When I put seeds in my hand and bend down he ran off but came right back and started eating.  This must be "Chip" !

.

We are anxious for warmer weather and lower water levels as river and some streams are too high for Trout Fishing !

.

We both need to get active *outside with yard work, flowers, the Lawn and puttering around the house !

.

Rocks and Things

Well, I am still puttering around and watching my Rock Tumblers spin and grind !  Weather is Rain and Cold but it is up in the 40's !

.

.

We have Robins back up North from their winter vacation.  We have 2 of them running around looking for worms !

.

.

Snow is finally making progress in Leaving but we will be getting some more "Sugaring Snow" !

.

.

I did out first "Cook-Out".  I fired up the Gas Grill and opened the back doors on the Garage and cooked us a nice Pork Steak from Eddie Bolivers Meat Market !

.

.

The slurry is hard on the hands so I got some nice yellow  Latex Gloves to wear when removing the rocks from the tumblers.

.

.

I pulled 1 of the Tumblers and this is what the Grit, Soap and Stones look like from grinding. 

.

.

The Mayonnaise Jar has the used grit and water and some of the rocks are in the strainer on the left all rinsed, the slurry is dumped outside.

.

.

These rocks are now going into the Polish stage, they will tumble for 5 days in Polish, water and a teaspoon of Liquid Soap.  Then removed and checked, and then the good quality and pretty ones go back in and get tumbled with small cut up pieces of leather and plastic beads to buff them up !
