Duck Feet

 WoW,  We have gotten some Rain,  we now have gotten 1 1/2 inches of rain in last 2 days that shows up on the rain gauge !

One good thing about the Rain is that it dissolved all the Crabgrass Killer I spread !!  It was a nice sunny day but a very Bitter Wind and cold,  I wore my heavy shirt outside and also in my Office at the Legion this morning while catching up on some paperwork !  It is Election of Officers this Month and Installation of Officers in May and Once again I have been nominated for Historian and Public Affairs Officer!

Right now at 1945 hours it is clouding up and can see some rain drops on the sidewalk !

.

Sadly My wife's Aunt June passed away in Okeechobee yesterday, passed in her sleep while in Hospice, she was 85 years old !      Nice Lady and always treated us well !

.

.

Lunch was Pizza, Black Beans and Rice and Root Beer,  Later it was a nice couple hour Nap in my Recliner in the Sunshine !

.

Hoping it starts warming up soon, We are waiting for the Barn Swallows to show up as thats usually a sign warmer weather is coming, we do have some yellow dandelions which means the Bullheads are biting !

Spring has Sprung

 Well, here is hoping that Spring is here finally and warmer weather and sunshine is just around the corner with some nice sunny days to enjoy !

I have been on some new Medications and 1 I am just finishing up with tomorrow my last Pill for a while and the other Medicine was a Breathing Treatment that caused more problems than it helped,  but, all things considered I am doing Great !

.

Got in the Garden Shed, hooked up the Battery on the John Deere and put the key in the ignition and the Old Girl fired right up,  drove it outside and around the lawn then got the mower out and the Spreader out !

I spread about 25 pounds of "Crabgrass Killer" and fertilizer on front and back lawns !

Nice being outside with just a T Shirt on and some Sunshine !

Nice to be outside finally after a long Winter !

I have had to cut down on watching too much News and World Events as it was causing me some undue Stress but it is another "Repeat of the Past" !      We need to Pray !

Holy Snow Storm !

Well Now,  yesterday we were outside looking the Gardens area over, walking around in the Grass and thats pretty much the way it was till we went to bed.

Above was yesterday afternoon !    Nice day but cool an windy !

We got about 2 inches of rain over the past 3 days,  Lawns are Greening up and nice to be able to walk around on the Grass.  Above was Saturday afternoon, getting a little Rain !

Above is what we woke up to this Morning as we checked outside while having our Morning Coffee before Church,  We have a fresh 5 - 6 inches of new fresh Snow !

The Snow Plow has been by twice to clear the streets,  we will be leaving shortly for church !

Almost Winter or Spring

Well, We are both still around,  My Honey's Radiation Treatments are done hopefully for good, she goes in for a check up soon for Blood work and some testing.

My Arm is now cleared up from my Last Heart Cath on February 18 and is almost back to normal !

.

We got an awesome Thunder and Lightning Storm Last night and early morning,  We got almost an Inch of Rain from 10PMto about about 4 AM this morning,

.

.

It was really "crashing and Booming" !  Above is what the sky looked like around midnight off and on !  (Internet Picture)

The Rain came down Heavy,  This is what the window looked like looking out at the storm and watching the Lightning and listening to the "Thunder Boomers" !

.

We are now in the time frame of almost !!!  Winter is almost over and it is almost Spring but not yet either way.  Today is Sunny but there is a Bitter March Wind !!

He was talking about Dentists on a Post,  Our Dentist is retiring,  We don't have Dental Insurance,  It's costly as Cleanings are $$$$$$ to say nothing of Dental work and I have had a lot of Dental work !!  But I still have 23 of my own Teeth, some teeth were lost on the Job in Bar Fights making arrests and taking a Punch,  some lost fillings and couldn't be repaired,  I do have a costly "Maryland Bridge" in the front and also a costly " White Gold Crown", always wondered if it is really Gold !!!!

I got this photo on my Phone when they were looking at my Extraction on a Tooth they removed and left me alone in the Room so I snapped the picture !  Lot of Dental work !!

Hopefully if we can get these Gas Prices down and some other Costs down we can save up a little in case either one of us will  need future Dental work !

Hope they can resolve these Issues in the Ukraine, I feel so bad for these Women and Children being killed and injured.

Changes

Well, it was time to "Spring Ahead" by setting the clocks ahead 1 hour so we set them ahead.  I do enjoy the extra time at the end of the day.  That is 1 change I do love to enjoy out side, fishing, sitting around a fire, sitting on the deck, puttering in the year !!

.

I guess we get used to "Change" !    Like it or not not like Wine or Cheese we age, some for the better, some for the worse !

.

I was born at 10AM on February 20,  came in at 9 Pounds an 4 ounces.  had my first Hair cut at 6 Months old, have it in an envelope !  

.

Hum Drums

Right now we are in the Winter "Hum Drums" ,  Not much going on,  Maple Syrup Season in on, Sapis running and Boiling down the Sap has started, it takes about 40 gallons of Maple Sap to make a Gallon of Maple Syrup.  Also it depends on the sugar content of the sap, usually sap is about 2 to 4 % sugar.  Highter the sugar content the less sap it takes to boil down to a gallon.    I know this because I spent a lot of time in the Sugar Shanty and also using horses to collect the sap !

After so many years using the same team of horses the Team would start and stop upon calling out, "Giddy Up"  and "Whoa" when needed going from tree to tree !!

.

We have had some nice rains to knock down the Snow and pack it down in the woods !

.

.

The rain has knocked down the Snow and so far it's down,  We have not seen any Robins yet, nor and Geese Flying North.

Spring is coming !

 Spring is supposed to be coming !  We hope,    We have been lucky so far this winter in regards to Snow removal,  Great Neighbors have come and cleared out the walks and driveways and Our little "SnowJoe" quit, I called them up and today a brand new one was delivered by FEDEX and "Bingo",  we are back in business with a newer model SnowJoe as it was replaced under Warranty !

Unboxed, all put together, I sprayed with WD40 to prevent Snow from sticking and Batteries all charged !

My Honey took SnowJoe outside and cleared up some areas the needed it on the sidewalk and she likes it as much as or better than the one we sent back under Warranty !

We cleaned the Bird Feeders and put out fresh seed and Suet,  It was about 40 degrees outside, we have about 3 feet of Snow and it's Snowing now !

This Snow is "Sugar Snow",  it is big flakes, wet and heavy,  the Maple Trees have been Tapped and some have started Boiling to make "Maple Syrup"  !
