Hot, Hazy, Humid

 Summer's Back, got up this morning to 74 degrees at 7AM !

Beautiful Day to go fishing, kind of hot day but a Bad Day of "Fishing is Better than a Good Day at Work " !

.

.

We got "Skunked",  No Fish !!

.

We came home and puttered around the House.  We spent 2 days at the St. James Fair going up to enjoy the Lebanese Food,  we had "Kibbie, Tabouli, Meat and Spinach Pies and I topped mine off with:

. 

a Vanilla Ice Cream Strawberry Short Cake !

.

Not Much going on as we adjust to the Hotter weather and Humidity !

.

Both Lawn Mowers at the Neighbors getting tuned up and I am ready to mow again,  Now it is mowing every 6  -7 Days !

Warm again

Well, it's warm again,  winds are a little brisk but better than those howling winds we had !

.

. 

Down on my Hands and Knees weeding the garden, it warmed up some but I still had my Flannel shirt on !

.

. 

Radishes, Onions, Beans, Koosa, Tomatoes coming up,  Lettuce was eaten by darn ole Woodchuck !!  Its all "weeded" an I have a sore neck and back and knees ! 

.

.

 All Weeded and now all watered !

.

.

Well, My Honey went and got us a "Raised Bed" garden to start off with and she has Lettuce and Radishes planted in it !   We're gonna get another one for Cucumbers and summer squash as it can grow and hang over the sides.

.

.

I fired up the Grill in the back entry way to the garage to cook dinner on !

.

.

Our new to us Humming Bird feeder just put up !

.

.

This is "Chip",  I have gotten finally to come up and take some sunflower seeds from my hand,  I hold my palm flat so he can stuff those seeds into his cheeks, I am amazed at how many seeds he can cram into his mouth !

.

. 

I closed my hand "Chip" nosed his was into the seeds but when I lifted my hand slowly when he wasn't touching the floor he let go and scurried away !

.

.

I grilled Pork Steak and thick sliced New Potatoes !

.

Cold Wake John Miller

 The weather sure has changed, we were sweltering in almost 90 degree heat and high Humidity, it was OK outside as long as there was a breeze and a little shade !

.

.

Today we went to a "Wake" outside for a friend of ours who passed away this winter,  we held his wake at his residence up in "Beartown",  It was outside and it was "Cold" !

.

.

It was cold outside, the Temperature was 48 degrees,  a wind and no sun and the Temp went up to 51 degrees ,  I froze but it was a good service and Tribute to a Good Man, there were many family and friends gathered in the woods above his Pond and a plenty of seating!!!

.

.

We had several of these nice hot fires going around the area,  The wind was Bitter built fires were warm !

.

.

There was a Buffet and there was everything you could want to eat.  Also a very large Desert Table, My Honey made a Rhubarb Cake and there was my Favorite there from a Chocolate Mayonaise Cake to a Carrot Cake and good fresh Hot Coffee.  

.

Garage/ Yard Clean up an Bird Day

Well, we had a nice day today, we had sunshine and temps all the way up to 78 in the sun,   I planted Morning Glories and cut sod away from the plot !  Then I headed for the Garage.

.

. If you look close you can see the top of my Work Bench in the Garage, I sorted screw drivers, wrenches, Pliers,  sorted screws, washers, nuts and bolts and sheet rock screws!!!  Then I took the water hose and sprayed down and cleaned the floor,  Looks Good !

.

. 

Next the Tea Rose Bush's got sprayed with Soapy Water and checked for bugs, they are really doing well and lots of Roses on these 2 bushs !

.

.

Got the Moss Rose and Inpatients Planted and fertilized now just got to wait till they fill in !

.

.

Dinner time and I BBQ some Pork Steaks !

.

.

We have 4 chiupmunks and a a nasty Red Squirrel along with several Grey Squirrels,  This fella Taking Sun Flower seeds off my shoe is "Chipper" !He wanders the Garage looking for spilled or dropped seeds.

.

.

Picture is supposed to be us having our very "First" Picnic at the Picnic Table but as you can see it blurred for some reason !

We have a nice flock of Baltimore Orioles feeding,  I think these were Babies that hatched and fed here last summer.  I put out Cups of Grape Jam and sliced oranges.

I caught this fella right in mid flight !

The Males are bright orange and the Females are a duller color but the Females will drive the Males away from the food !

.

.

This is right outside my Window on the front and this is a Female,  the Males have a Red Band around their Neck !    Feed is 1/4 cup of Sugar and 1 cup of boiled water, they love it !

.

.

All the Solar Nite Lights got a good cleaning and look  nice at night time now !

.

.

The Old Hawk came in for a Meal  but Missed his target !

.

.

.

We had a great day today !

Rain, Duck Feet

We sure have had Rain,  we got just over an Inch of rain, couple days later we got 3/4 of an inch and today we so far have had just over a 1/2 i9nch of rain !  

.

.        Feel like I have Duck Feet !

.

.

So it was a great day for my daily afternoon nap I like my "Naps",  after I had my last "Spell"  Doctor said it would be a good Idea if I rested every afternoon and give my Brain a chance to "reboot"  so I follow Doctors Orders !!

My Honeys Brother, Sister and her at a wake for My Honeys Uncle David who just passed away at the Veterans Center.

.

.

We just celebrated Uncle David's 80th Birthday at beginning of the year and lost him half way thru the year, (Sad) !

.

.

Yesterday we went and got our Booster shots !  Nothing to it, No Pain or side effects but extra protection !
